Fashion of French, Germanic & Other Royals and Nobles Part 1: Oct. 2007 - June 2018
Hello,
I would like to start a thread about Gloria von Thurn und Taxis and Marie Louise "Lilly" zu Sayn Wittgenstein, the two former punk girls among the German princesses.
The main purpose of the thread is to post pictures here, if possible, from their wild, punk time when they wore crazy outfits. Of course, links to video clips are welcome, too.
Here are some links to pictures of GLORIA and LILLY and their families:

An important reminder to all when posting in this topic as well as the rest of the topics on The Royal Forums:
1. Photo Posting Rules:
Copyrighted photos may be posted directly onto The Royal Forums ONLY if you have written permission from the photographer or photo agency who owns the photos (copyright) OR if you took the photo yourself.
As before, the source of the photo needs to be included with the photo and the words "Posted with permission from {name of source}".
Since photo agencies never give permission for watermarked photos to be posted anywhere, all watermarked photos will be deleted without notice.
The easiest way to share images with other members on the forum will be to copy URLs of their original location on the internet into your post. Members here will then be able to refer to and discuss these images.
The only pictures that can be posted without source (and permission) are pictures that are in the public domain. Photos taken before the First World War are almost certainly in the public domain, as are photos on the very few websites which clearly identify their content as not being copyrighted.
It is VERY IMPORTANT that we all pay attention to these rules. If you post a photo onto this site that you do not have permission to post, the owner of the photo (photographer or photo agency) may choose to take legal action against you. Unfortunately, this forum will not be able to provide you with protection if this happens.
2. Discussion
Instead of dumping hundreds of photos of Gloria and Lilly in this topic, we encourage members to engage in an interesting discussion. Example: What event did Gloria where that ensemble? Why do you like it or no? Or anything else about these two woman that you would like to discuss. However, please make sure you stay on topic, which is: Gloria and Lilly's Fashion and Style.
A couple of more reminders: No more than 20% of the text of an article can be posted, along with a link to the original article. It's a copyright violation to post translations of entire articles.
Hotlinking of content from other websites is not permitted. We expect our members to treat each other with respect.
Opinions should be backed up by reference to published reports.
Empty posts, that is posts that do not add or contribute to the discussion, will be deleted without notice.
If you have any questions or comments please feel free to contact any of the Royal House of Fashion Mods.
Have fun and enjoy!

A Friend, what do you think about their fashion & style? do you like it? do you follow their fashion? would you change the way they dress?
I find their fashion very colorful & sometimes out of this world.

GLORIA and LILLY Fashion and Style
Hello, DAZZLING,
I like the way GLORIA and LILLY used to dress.
Unfortunately, GLORIA has become very conservative and religious. Perhaps her daughters and her sister can help her find back to her old style.
Since her divorce from ALEXANDER and her wedding with LAMBROS, LILLY has been rarely seen in the media, but it seems she has become more conservative, too. Her daughter is still a baby and cannot influence her yet when it comes to style, so the question is whether her sisters and/or her mother can/will encourage her to wear other outfits. But since even written news about LILLY is rare today, I think we must do it with the old photos for a while.
I started this Thread mainly to collect links to pictures of GLORIA and LILLY's old "crazy" and "royal" style. The picture archive Seegerpress-online.de, where most of the pictures are located, has old and new pictures of the Princesses, so you can watch the change of their style (enter "Gloria von Thurn und Taxis" and "Prinzessin Lilly" as search words). In my opinion, many of the new pictures are not interesting enough for a link.
Many greetings,
A Friend

What is she wearing on her head? I am not able to translate the paragraph above the photo. Can someone please explain her outfit? Thanks!

I don't know myself exactly what LILLY is wearing. It could be something religious, military, foreign-culture, or just one of LILLY's own "crazy" creations. The text says "she and her first husband ALEXANDER divorced after 7 years of marriage 'in peace and friendship and they want to stay friends.' It is still unknown where their son HEINRICH DONATUS will live.
The picture shows LILLY and her first father-in-law."
Many greetings, :)
A Friend

Gloria's husband was even more outrageous than she was so when he died her life reverted back to a more conservative and laid-back style.

Gloria's hairdos as a young woman were amazing! Really memorable!
I cannot imagine anyone else then Gloria wearing such hairdos!
This one must be the most famous hairdo she ever wore:

Wow! Her hair looks so wild in that photo. So 80s. I always enjoy seeing older photos of her wild style.
