From the back, the cocktail dress looks like two creased, deflated airbags buttoned together - this is rather awful:

I don't like the dull light grey either, the color washes her out.
But it's great to finally see her with a classic upswept hairdo again.

Love the outfit, it's a difference from the usual.
The updo is a welcome return.

I have to agree with you, Boris. The back of the dress is awkward, to say the least.

This dress has a really unique design to it. I like her hair this way - elegant.

I'm not sure about this dress.
Nice hair.
I admit that Mathilde looks much thin/thinner.

Yes, maybe the back looks quite bad, but all the outfit is very nice, imo.
I agree about the hairdo, a good work.

A shame we don't have a better pic of the front. I don't like the back of it. Her hair looks nice in this updo.

Love the hair, love the shoes! Anyone have a closeup picture of the shoes?

Thx for posting clearer photos of her dress. Now that I can see it better I do like the front of the dress, just not the back.

The dress is nice, but her makeup is throwing me off. It's too dark and splotchy, I can't get past it to really see the outfit!!!

The dress definitely looks better in front than in the back. Mathilde's face looks sunburned.

I agree with what has been said before.
The front view is actually quite nice. I like the cut on Mathilde.
The back view isn't nice at all... it looks like it has been carelessly seamed together...

Fully agreeing with you, I have to add a tarp-looking fabric further aggravates the unpolished execution.

I agree with almost all of you: Although this dress looks nice, the back view is hideous. I also liked Mathilde's up-do and clutch.

I adore this dress and I have wanted her to wear it again for ages.
She looks stunning.

Joining you, I have to say that Crown Princess Mathilde's gala ensemble was well-chosen. She has got the most amazing skin. I love her hairstyle. Updos suit her the most.
