I don't like the gown with the tiara I love them both but together I think it is "miss" ..IMO

I agree. Love the dress, love the hairstyle, don't think this dress goes well with this tiara.
And in general don't like the changes which were done to this tiara.

I have to admit, I agree. There is something about the gold filigree lace that fights with the silver leaves of the tiara.

This is not directed at you, MARG, but there really is an incredible amount of nitpicking to be found in Mary's fashion threads in general.

I agree with your sentiments. CP Mary really has no "in between" tiara for these kinds of the events. I think her wedding tiara really does not do justice to her position as Crown Princess and would have been too small for this kind of event!

I dont think theres nit picking. Its a fashion thread. If everyone said nothing but Mary is perfect......boring. I feel all us regulars really love Mary. The ones that are mean dont last. Im not a fan of some so I stay off there threads!! Lets enjoy tonight too........yeah!

Honestly, when I saw the initial pictures...I wasn't so impressed either. But these are not the best photos of the dress.

I will wait until other much bigger and clearer pictures are posted!
So I am on the fence for now!

You see! The first set of photos from facebook are not great! The second photo is a bit better. I have subsequently seen a photo of Mary and Mette Merit greeting each other and the material of the dress looks a lot better.

The dress is different but I like it.
It really works, she looks very feminine
maybe not everyone's cup of tea but elegant and goes for the private dinner
and that sexy man by her side is just the cherry on top

I clicked on the first photo and just went oh! Not a big OH, just a little whimper.

After looking at what has already been posted my only thought was she looks like she's wearing a giant Steelo Pad. Or maybe a winter nightie? But when I saw the video of her arrival and she turned to enter and there was this big ol hole there and I thought, no. Just no.

Actually I like the style and perfect fit of this gown but not the color. Mary looks better in proper white or a distinct color. This chrome or washed out gray doesn't compliment her skin tone. Maybe was quite different in person but doesn't photo well. But, like my SIL stated, with that figure, she will carry off almost anything with class.

Well there is a lot going on there ... the drop earrings big brooch odd dress red nails the hair I just don't like it ... I have to say this and I will probably be hammered for it .. but I think Mary is starting to look a little like mutton dressed up as lamb... her look of late has been odd to me whether it is the pale lips that do not suit her, the hair colour which thankfully has been sorted here I don't know I just think things gave been "off"
Granted Japan was on the whole lovely but I have had these thought and well .. I will most likely regret this post but there it is ...IMO only of course ...
