I love this look, very soft and feminine. Also classy for someone in her early or mid forties.

A miss look.
The white dress looks lovely and if worn alone with a nice long necklace chain, it would've been a winner look. The cape/coat looks like it belongs to a nightgown set. There is nothing about it that makes it ideal to walk out into public in. Maybe if it had embellishments etc to make it look dressier.

The kimono and the gown don't work together.

Must be hard to find different clothes that look good 100% of the time. I would just love to go through her closet. She must have many that are at present being re-figured by seamstress to look different or more figure flattering. Otherwise the cost of all these outfit would be staggering.

I was thinking the same. Looks like a nightgown and robe. Not her best look.

This is not not one of Mary's best looks, but she still manages to pull it off with her usual grace. She is a wonder...

I have a feeling the ensemble may not have photographed very well.
Perhaps it was ok for a mid-summer evening

I actually thought when I first saw it that CP Mary might be in the early stages of pregnancy .... so .... I guess not a great look.

The shawl is indeed exquisite. Amazing, in fact. Would love to see it from the back. In the right lighting.

Exactly so. It got washed out. This is one stunning ensemble (IMO only. I love it!).

It was perfect for a mid-summer's evening. Light and fresh. Pitch perfect.

Maybe it would have worked better with a more contrasting color
