Mary looks wonderful. I love that shade of blue and the jewels around the neckline give it that extra sparkle. Her hair style is fabulous as well. I have no complaints.

Mary looks good but the dress is so-so. Its ok for daytime wear but imo not elegant enough for an evening award presentation.

 I was trying to think what it was that bugged me and you just nailed it. The background of the print is too dark for evening wear because the lighter splashes are sort of "in you face", so to speak. Mary's face and hair fade into the dark background too.

Great earrings! I actually think the dress is too tight, it is pulling across her whole middle section. The print is ghastly, as are the other of this brand I've seen. Looks like an old Victorian couch slipcover.

She looks great!! I disagree about the print - it's lovely and bright but not garish.
Also, she seems perfectly in line with the dress code for the event. Not all eveningwear has to be formal and long and grand.
