Yesterday, Crown Princess Mary opened the CFW2016.

IMO a little plain and dark outfit (but we can't see the top, though) but Mary herself looks beautiful and her smile can light up everything dark (;

Mary always wears the oddest outfits at CFW, polka dot pants and animal print shoes???
I am glad the coat is so long that the desaster is being covered up to a large part.

Well, that has to be the most bizarre ensemble I have ever seen Mary wear. Why she wore it is a mystery to us all or perhaps it was just that her dresser was on holiday . . .

Maybe it's because the coat is paired with pants, but I'm not a fan of this outfit. I know the "dress code" calls for women to be covered up, so pants are the easiest way to do that.

I agree, the coat looks a bit odd paired with pants. The coat seems nice just wrong pairing. But if your choice is between an ankle covering skirt or pants, I think many would opt for the pants. It isn't as easy to do a lot of walking in a full length skirt if not accustomed to wearing them.

For day one, I thought Mary looked wonderful and so elegant.

I like the outfit for day two, but the black trousers seem quite stiff to me and I wonder if also had they been in a light colour to match the top, overall it would have look much better.
