Another stylish 'look' from Mary and a pleasure to see she stepped up the importance of the occasion with complimentary hat, clutch, gloves and shoes to what would otherwise have been a pretty ordinary blue/green summer dress.

I think it shows how easily a simple frock can be dressed up with the right accessories. I do like the colour combinations Mary has chosen.
With regard to the hat, I think a wider brimmed hat in the same material and colour might have looked better. The hat Mary is wearing is very neat and chic and so would suit a fitted jacket and skirt more so than a light, floaty summer dress.

This is a very elegant look and welcoming at the same time.
I see nothing wrong with her hair and liked that she tied it back in a soft ponytail and out of the face

I totally agree. It's a lovely but relaxed look for this type of engagement. As to her hair? She has an elegantly high ponytail.
Since I can't open any of the photos you posted DOM, I am going to try to post them again. And Failed!!

Perfectly dressed for this occasion! Relaxed, yet elegant. I see nothing wrong with her hair. It is off of her face so she can relate to her guests without fussing. She can do no wrong... almost!

I think the skirt is certainly versatile - you could match almost anything with it - but to me it's a bit matronly especially for an event involving children. It's a bit in the middle ie not elegant and not casual. I just think she could do much better even with recycling.

I'm not a fan of this outfit. I agree that it seems a little matronly. On the other hand, I think her hair is fine. I don't have a problem with it.
