She likes it too. she uses it a lot. It is growing on me, to the point I think I would like one. A cheaper version of course!

Is it a clutch, or are the straps pushed back? It looks like the straps are hiding.

You're right sgl, there are straps that have been folded over. This bag was used previously at the opening of parliament in 2004.

Crown Princess Mary wearing a very lovely belt to an awards event for a Danish women's magazine on 11 November 2008:

I really like this belt! It is really pretty, and it looks like it has interesting details.

Thanks for the links, Jinigirl. I had not seen it before. I like it best with the black outfit that she wore today and in 2007.

I agree with you, sgl. I didn't care for it at all with the Gala dress as it did nothing. It really shows up nicely with the all-black dress, however! Lovely Mary as usual...

I remember at the time that I was not overly enamoured with the belt over the gala/wedding dress, but it is much better over black; so I'm in agreement.

Goody! Now that we are all in agreement, hopefully Mary will read this and not wear it again with the gala/wedding dress!! :)

Love the belt and agree with others, it looked ill-placed on the galawear. The black outfit accentuates the belt, it's an accessory that needs to sparkle on its own, the highlight of an outfit, therefore it was perfect yesterday.

There is also a great close up of the belt @ Madeleine Glindorf's website.

Was the belt designed by Carolina Herrera? It is one of the prettiest belts I have ever seen.

She designed the dress so I assume that she also did the belt. I am surprised as she used to design for Jackie Kennedy in her later years....e.g. her dress for Caroline's wedding which was simple but elegant as are most of her designs today.
