I agree, I am quite disappointed by the head-pieces, or headgears, she wore so far. IMO she looks much , much more better with big hats!

Yeah But I loved flower piece she wore on Prinsjesdag 2006. It was very elegant. And also I love this hat: http://img11.imagevenue.com/img.php?...maxx_349lo.jpg It suits to her very much

Henri M, thank you for telling us what these "head pieces" are really called.
Toques.

Actually a toque can be used for the long white 'chimney' a chef wears in his kitchen.
And a toque is also used for the hard plastic protection thing men wear in their trousers when playing some sports.

I have to say GOLD shoes for a day event, messy hair and shiny white nylons dont do "amazing" for me, she looked amazing in the spanish wedding, or in Thailand, here she looked normal, like she usually does. But anyway, it is just an oppinon and other have other oppinions which is as it should be, it would be boring if everyone felt the same and it was one long Amazing Grace choir on every event she went.
I will says he seems to be working very hard lately, almost engagements every day, it is good that she feels up to it.

I agree. I was surprised by the hallelujah chorus for a quite ordinary Máxima with her usual ravaged hairdo.
The only amazing thing is that Máxima apparently never has seen herself in pictures, otherwise she would have known how untidy and messy she -unintendedly- looks.

I saw her picture in today's newspaper and the hair didn't appear to be as wild as usual, so she might finally have found some hairspray. What was the event she visited about btw?

re: Willem-Alexanders public appearances: I wonder if HM is letting him in on her present proceedings with the goverment that has to be formed. It might be interesting for him to get an idea what is expected of the Dutch monarch.

You may use TONS of hairspray, but if you have long hair + strong wind it always makes what it wants.
So maybe there wasn't that strong wind and her hair looked normally

Some of you could give Maxima a break with her hair, it´s long and ovbiously doesn´t like to use it tied.

Maxima would look better with a shorter style in my opinion. I find her long hair a bit too messy.
