The length of the dress or cape and those horrible shoes give her legs the whole tree stump look not great and yet the colour is lovely on her ....

I agree with you all. The dress is a beauty, the butterfly broach is lovely, but the emerald earring make her look to christmasy and the shoes are from hell. Disgusting.

Totally I agree with you ,,, princess Maxima looks great in red dress so pretty elegant & the colour suits her well ,, the jewels nice but the emerald not works well with red outfit ,,, black purse & shoes are nice add to the look ,,, but I not like the shoe at all .

Red is definitely a good shade for Princess Maxima but the emerald earrings were too much of a contrast here. The bulky shoes did not work with the look at all.

I agree about the shiny-ness. However, the proportion of the skirt troubles me. It's not a big deal, though.

I think the skirt is tulip shaped, any shorter and it would look a bit baloonish

I like the top and if the skirt was longer I think it would cover her knees which are not small, [ I should know I have the same issue] as pieces alone they are great together they are not IMO she looks a little odd to me and the shoes are too chunky for the whole look IMO

Looks very uncomfortable. I would have liked the whole outfit in the fabric of the skirt, and the top fitted properly for her. Agree she is one who shouldn't show her knees, ever.

I like the colour on her. Agree about the top part, not sure about the back side and don't like these shoes on her.

Much as I like the colour, I think she is just too old to wear dresses like that now. Perhaps if she weighted 10 kg less and was 5 years younger, she may have looked better, IMO.
