Ghastly dress with a ghastly pattern and ghastly cut-outs, worn with the kind of horrid shoes which will be very hard to explain to any potential daughter of hers in twenty years' time.

Dear Boris, sometimes I think you're going to have a stroke with all this kitsch around here. But I love the way you express yourself - every time a new parallel or witticism! Glad to meet you and to read you!

Very very pretty dress, young and fresh!
I love the side picture, it is like "My God I've eaten soooo much! My horse will reject me from his back"

IIRC, the very first thing that came to mind when I saw this picture was the phrase, taken from Regency England back in the 1800's, a diamond of the first water.
In my youth, I recall reading a lot of English Regency love novels, wherein the young ladies that appeared in society for the very first time, a coming out ball if you will, were classified in terms of beauty. And the most beautiful young lady at the ball would always be classified as a diamond of the first water. And that is what Miss Charlotte Casiraghi is ~ a diamond ~ especially in this pic. :)

Oh, so you expect to see her 'girls' out in order to call something 'vulgar'? I don't and it's an opinion. With all due respect, if this is your idea of elegance (I guess you meant 'chic'), so be it. But asking someone why she/he finds it vulgar, well, you know, this can't be analysed any further. I call it the way I see it.

I'm sorry to have an opinion different than yours, I was just asking what defines this dress as vulgar? You can like it or not like it, but "vulgar" it is a special word, with an exact meaning!!

Those holes are covered by material and is a fashion statement for 2010. Most of the holes are nice, but the large one in the center is not flattering. Also large hoop earrings are very much the trend in the United States right now and last year. I think if you did not know it was fabric there it might seem vulgar.

Obviously the top part, whether it's covered with fabric or not. Different opinions are most welcome, no problem with that.

The dress has an edgy look to it. I think it looks fine on someone as young as Charlotte . She's small chested so nothing is showing.
