The Duke of Kent, Grand Master, United Grand Lodge of England, this evening attended the Deputy Grand Directors of Ceremonies' Dinner at Boodle's, 28 St. James's Street, London SW1.

The Queen gave a Reception at Buckingham Palace this evening for recently retired and appointed Lord-Lieutenants.
The Princess Royal, The Duchess of Gloucester and The Duke of Kent were present.

The Duke of Kent this afternoon visited St. Joseph's Catholic Infant School and Nursery, Marsh Lane, Leyton, London E10, to commemorate the School's Fiftieth Anniversary and was received by Major Jeremy Fern (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

His Royal Highness later visited Waltham Forest Construction Training Centre, Hollydown Way, Leytonstone, London E11.

The Duke of Kent, Colonel, Scots Guards, this afternoon unveiled a memorial to the 3rd (Tank) Battalion at Wellington Barracks, Birdcage Walk, London SW1.

His Royal Highness, Colonel, Scots Guards, this evening attended a Reception with descendants of members of the 3rd (Tank) Battalion at the Cavalry and Guards Club, 127 Piccadilly, London W1.

The Duke of Kent, Deputy Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards (Carabiniers and Greys), this evening attended a Regimental Dinner at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

Well, this isn’t Prince Michael’s thread but since Prince Michael had only 8 and Princess Michael had only 3 engagements last year, I don’t see that they need to go anywhere.

Not sure what this comment has to do with her brother in law's current events :ermm:

But they aren't working royals, never have been. They don't get a grace and favor apartment, or any funding (apartment paid by the queen, not grace). Nothing to get rid of. What they do is private activity.

The Duke of Kent, Royal Patron, the Dresden Trust, this afternoon departed from Royal Air Force Northolt for Germany in order to attend ceremonies marking the 75th Anniversary of the destruction of Dresden.

His Royal Highness later attended a Reception given by the Mayor of Dresden at the City Hall, also attended by The President of the Federal Republic of Germany.

The Duke of Kent afterwards attended a Ceremony of Commemoration in the Kulturpalast Dresden, and subsequently attended an Organ Recital in the Frauenkirche.

His Royal Highness this evening took part in a human chain Ceremony of Commemoration on Neumarkt Square.

The Duke of Kent later arrived at Royal Air Force Northolt from Germany.
Mr Nicholas Turnbull was in attendance.

In the evening the Duke of Kent and Frank Walter Steinmeier, President of Germany, joined thousands of others to form a human chain around Dresden's old town to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the bombing of Dresden and to pay tribute to the victims:

His Royal Highness, President, the Scout Association, this afternoon visited the Essex County Scout Camp at Skreens Park Activity Centre, Skreens Park Road, Roxwell, Chelmsford, Essex.

The Duke of Kent later visited Lodge Coaches, JW Lodge and Sons, the Street, High Easter, Chelmsford, to mark its Centenary.

He visited the International Centre for Life and met pupils from local schools taking part in life science workshops in Times Square, Newcastle upon Tyne.

He visited the Cathedral Church of St. Nicholas to view restoration and renovation work in Newcastle.

As Colonel in Chief of The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers the Duke of Kent visited the 5th Battalion at Battalion Headquarters in Newcastle

and he visited Liebherr Sunderland Works Limited, crane manufacturers, at Ayres Quay in Sunderland.
