As usual DMAN thanks so much for the links, so useful for us abroad.

Interesting fact : The Prince and the Duchess will not share the Queen's carriage and will have their very own procession.

Wasnt it the same in '81 also..
Only in late 60s, I believe, all four of them (E,P,C,A) used to come in the same carriage..

Charles & Diana used to travel with The Queen & Prince Philip in the same carriage everynow and then. Now that Charles & Camilla will travel in their own carriage, they will enter another entrance and wait for The Queen to enter.

But even in the video you posted, Charles and Diana arrived in a separate carriage and waited for Queen and DoE to arrive, and joined behind them in the procession..Charles and Camilla will do the same now..

They did share the same carriage at one point :

But yes according to the video posted above the protocol seemed to vary.

The answer is maybe here : in 1991 the carriage was shared on the way back to the palace. We'll see tomorrow...

I'd like to add my thanks for the links, too. If C-SPAN2 covers this in (close to) real time, I may wake up the neighborhood at 5:30 am EST! What a great surprise.

It should be in real time, straight from BBC1. C-SPAN has aired it every year since 1988. It's really the only regular royal event that can be counted on to appear on a US television network.

So happy I have a lifestyle that allows me to manage my day any way I want to. Got C-SPAN2 programmed in and looking forward to watching this morning.

They've decided on yet another protocol for when and where Charles and Camilla travel. Rather than traveling in a carriage immediately behind the Queen, or in the same carriage, this time they're going well ahead of her.

The Queen and Duke have just arrived at the Sovereign's Entrance at Westminster in the Irish State Coach.

The Royal standard is now flying above the Victoria Tower.

As the Queen and the DoE entered the robing room I think I spotted Arthur Chatto and Charles Armstrong-Jones.

I believe that both of them are Page's of Honour at the ceremony.

Something unusual is happening. Black Rod is stopped in the middle of the corridor and looks quite perplexed. Edit: Probably because prayers were still going on in the House.
