Anne was definitely there yesterday. I imagine Anne will ride in a carriage today as it's Ladies Day.

The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, Princess Alexandra and Princess Michael were in a carriage yesterday I think.

Edit:

Todays' carriage riders are:

One: Queen, Duke of York, Mr John Warren and Mr Edward Young
Two: The Princess Royal, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie
Three: The Earl of Snowden, The Countess of Snowden, Captain David Bowes-Lyon and Mrs David Bowes-Lyon
Four: Mr Charles Butter, Mrs Charles Butter, The Hon.Peter Stanley, The Hon. Mrs Stanley

A DF article from yesterday with many pictures:
Queen does a quick outfit change to attend Royal Ascot | Daily Mail Online
Quote:
How does she do it? Her Majesty gives the Queen's speech and arrives at Ascot in time for the first race in a brand new yellow outfit

Getting dressed for a trip to the races is enough of a task for anyone to contend with in one day.

But today the Queen managed to preside over the State Opening of Parliament in the morning and then nip off to Ascot in time for the first race with a quick outfit change in between.

After appearing at Westminster in blue brocade, the monarch found time for a quick change and was wearing a sunny yellow outfit when she joined Prince Charles and Camilla in the royal carriage.

I'm still trying to figure out whether the pattern of the dress under the blue coat for Parliament is the same pattern shown under the yellow coat for Ascot. My eyes aren't as sharp as they used to be.

Easily done. The Queen had to eat lunch sometime. Take of coat and hat for lunch, eat and don different coat and hat on the way out the door to the races.

"Everybody wants the Queen to get a winner"

You are probably aware that the Queen is actually a competitor at Royal Ascot.

Her Majesty is not saddling the favourite at 2:30, but she does own plenty of horses that have a chance at the Royal Meeting.

Her best chance of a winner this year appears to be the well-fancied Dartmouth running in the Hardwicke Stakes on Saturday - but Maths Prize, trained by Roger Charlton, also has a shout in the Britannia Stakes today.

Andrew Balding has trained for the Queen, and says punters would relish another Royal victory, like Estimate's in the 2013 Gold Cup.

"I don't think I've ever heard a reception like it, anywhere in the world,",said Balding.

"She's a great horse racing enthusiast, everybody wants her to have a winner, and she's got a couple of chances".

Odds on for pink today

Despite the wonderful array of hats on display today, all chatter at 2 o'clock will turn to the colour of the Queen's headpiece.

Alex the bookie told us his money is on pink... well we say his money...

The Queen has arrived

The Duke of Edinburgh has skipped Ascot for a second day, following a brief stay in hospital, but the Queen has kept up her 100% attendance.

The carriages are making their way down the racecourse, carrying with them the answer to the biggest question of the day...

...the hat is pink.

I have to say that it was very nice how the Duke of York's tie and waistcoat matched the Queen's outfit. I'm kind of sentimental like that.

I noticed that too right off the bat. Son dressing to compliment his mother that he's escorting to the races. Very gentlemanly of him.

Lovely again today. The York Princesses outfits are wonderfully coordinated. Beatrice has on an Amanda Wakeley dress with the sleeves lengthened.

Sophie's style is ALWAYS on point for Ascot. Love it!

I thought the same thing - but could see no evidence of her dress under the yellow coat. but there was some yellow in the print she wore under the blue in the mornng - so completely feasible (and prob what us mere mortals would have done). either way - bravo! on the sartorial change.

Article from the DF:
Queen arrives at Ascot as Prince Philip recovers at home | Daily Mail Online
Quote:
The show must go on! Queen presents the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot as she attends the races without Prince Philip for the second day running - while he recovers after a short stay in hospital

Her husband Prince Philip is recovering at home after being discharged from hospital, but the Queen is determined to stick rigorously to her schedule.

The monarch attended Royal Ascot, one of her favourite events of the year, without her husband for the second day running with Prince Andrew stepping up to accompany her in the traditional carriage procession.

Her Majesty was resplendent in a fuchsia coat and hat, showing no signs of fatigue after a busy two days that saw her attend the State Opening of Parliament yesterday, before nipping back to Windsor to host a lunch and make it to Ascot in time for the first race.

Today, she was back again to present the prestigious Gold Cup, won by Big Orange who held off a late charge by defending champion Order of St George to win a thrilling edition of the feature race.
Videos from today - HM is looking great:

Sophie, The Countess of Wessex, and Serena, The Countess of Snowdon, are the best-dressed.

Prince Edward looked good in his suit, his wife, Sophie, Princess Edward, Countess of Wessex looked wonderful in her dress.

Princess Michael looks great as usual, and the Queen and her daughter, Anne, always bond well.

I thought the same thing - but it's not. Over on "From Her Majesty's Jewel Vault" someone did a side-by-side comparison of the dresses, and while they are very similar, they are different dresses.

From Her Majesty's Jewel Vault: State Opening of Parliament and Royal Ascot, Day 2 (the comparison is down in the comments)

OK. Gotcha. Then..... sometime after lunch when the Queen repaired to her chambers to "freshen up", the change of clothes were in order. This is a woman that is very familiar with Balmoral rules where people are constantly changing clothes as the hours of the day tick off. I think we can add another title to HM's long list of them.

Quick Change Mistress.

We are in turquoise this afternoon. Although, some people could call it light blue my eyes aren't good today! ha.

Mr Erik Penser is a Swedish stable owner, we know Mr Tom van Straubenzee (are they right in referring to him as William's best man)?

The Hon. Peter Stanley & wife Frances is a stud manager and the Earl of Derby's brother. John and his wife Carolyn we know.

John Gosden is a famous British race horse trainer, awarded an OBE this year and his wife Ms Rachel Hood a lawyer and race horse owner. Mr and Mrs Wingfield Derby Suffolks High Sheriff.

Wing Commander Sam Fletcher, Queens Equerry (he is absolutely beaming)!, Mr and Mrs Charles Butter just very good friends apparently.

The Queen finally wears blue

A big 'ooooooooooh' fills the Parade Ring at Royal Ascot as the Queen emerges.

If I'm not mistaken, that is a baby blue outfit.

I am willing to be corrected however...
