Queen Elizabeth II is seen at the presentation of The Golden Jubilee Stakes at York Racecourse on June 18, 2005 at York, England. Today was the fith day of The Royal Meeting which this year is being held at the Yorkshire track due to redevelopment at Ascot. The meeting features some of the flat seasons best racing and displays of the finest fashions.

I was reading the hat rules for the Royal enclosure and I don't think that Sophie's hat passed the bill.
However the hat looks 'better' from this side, and I have seen almost seven people wearing similiar hats at Ascot, so yes the saucer shaped head thing has made a revival.

Dusty pics
Bumping this thread I discovered lurking in the TRF vaults.
A collection of interesting pics of Ladies Day at Ascot over a few years,
including Diana, the Queen Mother, Queens, Grand Duchesses, Princesses, Duchesses, Countesses and untitleds.
(bigger pics on page 2)
Enjoy.

Did Camilla ever attend ascot before marrying Charles. I loved her hat at the most recent Ascot but I have always wondered if she attended with Andrew or on her own in the olden days.

I think she did, because wasn't there some instance where she and her husband were invited to the Royal Enclosure, and people were saying that it was the Queen's way of showing support for Charles and sending a message to Diana or something?

The June 1985 Ascot was when Andrew and Sarah first noticed a spark. She also attended in June 1986 before the wedding. Remember she wore that color-blocked dress of white, green, and black or navy which was not one of her better fashion choices.
