Princess Alexandra was born on Christmas Day 1936 at 3, Belgrave Square, her family's London home.
She is the second child and only daughter of the late Duke and Duchess of Kent (her brothers are the present Duke of Kent and Prince Michael of Kent). Much of her childhood was spent at their country home, Coppins, in Buckinghamshire.
Her father was killed in a wartime flying accident in 1942 when she was just five years old.

Palace 'embarrassed' by plight of Queen's cousin
By Chris Hastings and Andrew Alderson - 11/05/2003)
Senior members of the Royal Household conceded last night that the disclosure that Marina Mowatt, the Queen's cousin, is living on state benefits was deeply embarrassing.
They insisted, however, that details of her dire financial predicament could in no way damage the monarchy.
The divorced 36-year-old mother of two, who is the daughter of Princess Alexandra and Sir Angus Ogilvy - who are alleged to be worth £20 million - was reported to be so short of money that she is planning to take her daughter, Zenouska, 12, out of a private school and move her to a comprehensive.

That's a good queston.. I don't think so, as Angus Olgivy isn't a noble, but I'm not completely sure.
Does anyone have any idea?
And has there been any news on them?

What very sad news, especially around the holidays, even if Sir Angus Ogilvy had been quite ill on and off the last several years.

I orginally came here to wish Princess Alexander a happy Birthday for yesterday. But now am greeted with the sad news of the death of her husband. I would like to extend my sympathies to Princess Alexander, James and Marina and his grandchildren.
The Hon. Angus Ogilvy was from a very old and noble Scottish family, I believe his father was an Earl.

Well, that isn't entirely unexpected since he'd been ill for some time, but how sad for the family that he died at Christmas, especially considering how close to Princess Alexandra's birthday it is. And just after Princess Alice's death, too.

According to the Royal Family website, the funeral will take place at St. George's Chapel, Windsor, on 5 January 2005.
