It was reported in October, on the day of Eugenie's wedding, that she had broken her arm. As a result she didn't attend the wedding and has cancelled her engagements for November. In a woman aged in her early 80s any break can take a longer time to heal than in someone much younger.
According to the Future Engagements page of the British Monarchy website she has engagements in December starting on the 5th with another on 6th, 8th, 11th, 13th and 18th.
The last engagement currently up is for the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester on the 19th so she is amongst the last (but it does only go up until the 21st) and we have to remember that the Wales' branch and Andrew do not announce their engagements on the FE page very often, if at all. (They have collectively one engagement listed - Camilla has one and none of the others - Andrew is currently in Australia so we know that is wrong but ... that is the way of the BRF).

Delightful to see the Princess 'back on duty', even though she still seems to be having some problem with a finger

I don’t really see it as being true in the sense that she doesn’t do hundreds of duties each year anyway so I suspect she would simply reduce whay she does do even further, maybe hand over a patronage or two? Obviously since the Duke of Edinburgh’s retirement anything could happen.

I read the article earlier today and was actually surprised. If true Princess Alexandra must be feeling quite poorly to take the step and retire. Her brother was allegedly once quoted as saying that he'd never retire as long as the Queen is still working, a sentiment I'd imagine was shared by the rest of the cousins and Alexandra in particular.
That said a woman of that age who's fractured her wrist two times as a result of taking a tumble must know her limits and take care of herself.

It is based on an article in The Daily Express. TDE is the very worst of the British gutter press so I would take the scoop with a few pinches of salt.

I agree with JR76, it depends on her health. She'll keep going as long as she can but if she's receiving medical advice to reduce her work, I imagine her family would be encouraging her to heed it.
I also agree with Marengo's comments about the Daily Express - vile rag.

It is interesting for me that a week or so ago she had two engagements listed for the 30th January in the FE but one was removed yesterday. Maybe she has been told only one engagement per day when she does do them.
I do think we need to remember that she had a health issue a couple of years ago that saw her miss engagements for quite a few months. I have a friend who has the same thing and she was forced to retire at 58 whereas Alexandra is now 82. She also had the issue with the broken arm last year, another side effect of age.
