Is it me or is the sun always shinning on Garter Day at Windsor?

I think a few years ago it rained

Agreed. During William's investiture in 2008, Harry and Kate were obviously laughing at him, while William was throwing them dirty looks. I remember thinking that he wasn't loving being there. I don't think much has changed in the intervening time.

I get the impression sometimes that William may be somewhat uncomfortable wearing- for lack of a better word and I don’t want to be disrespectful- costumes. (Something other than suits, jeans, etc.) I may be way off though.

He probably does. Most people would feel a bit silly walking around in medieval attire. Those hats do look a bit comical, tradition or no!
