Yes I did thank you. Not too far out of Salisbury is Old Sarum where Eleanor of Aquitaine was imprisoned for many years before Richard released her.

4th of September 1199 -Death of Joan of England,Queen Dowager of Sicily and Countess of Toulouse at at Fontevrault Abbey following giving birth to her son Richard who died shortly afterwards.

Joan was buried in at the Plantagenet's vault at Fontevrault Abbey where her father Henry II ,her brother,Richard the Lionheart were buried and would soon her joined by her mother queen Eleanor and her son Raymond,Count of Toulouse.Joan's tomb survived until the French Revolution when the abbey was ransacked and the tomb and Plantagenet's burials were lost.

5 September 1548 : Death of Catherine Parr ,queen dowager of England and the last of the six wives of King Henry VIII.

Queen Catherine died on the 5th of September 1548, at Sudeley Castle in Gloucestershire shortly after the birth of her daughter,Mary Seymour.Her remains were buried at St. Mary's Chapel, Sudeley Castle following her funeral on September 7th.

7 September 1362 : Death of Joan of England ,Queen of Scotland.


Also known as Joan of the Tower she was the daughter of King Edward II of England and Isabella de France.Joan was married to David II of Scotland ,however the marriage was childless.Queen Joan died at Hertford Castle, Hertfordshire and her remains were buried at Greyfriars, Newgate St in London.
The church was vandalized during the Reformation,burnt down in the Fire of London and later rebuilt but sadly destroyed again during the Blitz.The Tomb and burial were lost.

10th of September 1167 -Death of Empress Matilda,Lady of the English ,Countess of Maine and Anjou,mother of Henry II.

The Empress Matilda died at Rouen in Normandy .Her remains were buried first at Abbaye Notre-Dame du Bec ,the abbey was sacked by the Huguenots in 1562 and the tomb was lost .The Abbey was again pillaged during the French Revolution but her burial went undiscovered until the 19th century when her remains were transported to Rouen Cathedral and buried.
