On this day, April 28, 1442 ~ Birth of King Edward IV of England in Rouen, France. He was the son of Richard of York, 3rd Duke of York and Cecily Neville.
 
On this day, April 30, 1662 ~ Birth of Queen Mary II of England at St. James' Palace in London, England
 
1st of May 1118 -Death of Matilda of Scotland, Queen of England and Duchess of Normandy.

Matilda was born in 1080 the daughter of Malcolm III of Scotland and Margaret of Wessex. In November 1100 she married Henry I of England at Westminster Abbey. The Empress Matilda was their only surviving child .
Queen Matilda died at Westminster and was buried at the Abbey.

Lady Cecily Neville herself was related to the English Royal Family from her mother,Joan Beaufort, Countess of Westmorland who was the only daughter of John of Gaunt, Duke of Lancaster and Katherine Swynford.

Its believed Edward was killed after the battle but there are various accounts of him being brutally murdered by the king and his brothers and also dying in battle.
The body of the 17 year old Lancastrian Prince was later buried at Tewkesbury Abbey.

Other leading Lancastrians who were killed were the Duke of Somerset and the Marquess of Dorset, and the Earl of Devon.

5th of May 1316 : Death of Elizabeth Plantagenet,Countess of Holland and Countess of Hereford and of Essex.

Also known as Elizabeth of Rhuddlan she was the youngest daughter of Edward I and Eleanor of Castile. In January 1297 she was married to Johan ,Count of Holland but was widowed in 1299.In 1302 she married secondly,Humphrey de Bohun, 4th Earl of Hereford, 3rd of Essex and Constable of England at Westminster Abbey,the couple had several surviving children.
Elizabeth died at Quendon, Essex and was buried at the now destroyed Waltham Abbey in Essex.

Mary of Modena was Queen Consort of England,Scotland and Ireland .The queen died at the Château de Saint-Germain-en-Laye in Paris and her body was buried at the Couvent des Visitandines de Chaillot .
The chapel and convent were totally destroyed during the ravages of the French Revolution.

The queens entrails were interred at the chapel of the College of the Scottish in Paris which was ransacked and pillaged during French Revolution.

Berengaria de Navarre is possibly the only English queen never to set foot on English soil .The queen was also crowned on her wedding day in Cyprus by archbishop of Bordeaux who accompanied the Crusade.

William was an Anglo Norman noble who served as Lord of England during the reigns of Henry II,Richard I ,John and Henry III.He married Isabel de Clare daughter of Richard de Clare ,Earl of Pembroke and Princess Aoife (Eva) of Leinster.
The Earl died at Caversham, and was buried in the Temple Church in London.

Yes she did indeed and was the daughter of the deposed king of Leinster who sought military help from Henry II to restore him and ended up with the Norman Invasion of Ireland.

They were married as per Protestant rites but was performed by the bishop ,Adam Bothwell, Bishop of Orkney which further alienated the queen.
