I recently watched Sophie Winkleman playing a role in ITV's Poirot. It was an episode that someone uploaded to YouTube, but I can't remember the name of it.

Lord Frederick Windsor is a grown man now,, he looks handsome and noble. Very smart of him to avoid replying to the tricky questions without being rude or getting annoyed by the reporters.

I like him, he should be styled HRH and be a royal prince, not Harry or Andrew and his daughters. I can't believe the Queen can't see the unfairness in all that

He could be styled as HRH by Prince Charles or Prince William,when they will ascend to the throne.But I doubt they will make any changements to George V's settlements and we do not know if lord Freddie really wants to be titled HRH

This we will never know. I imagine that Freddie loves his freedom but I think he could also manage the challenges that come with a HRH. All I know is that I don't think Prince Charles, who rather seems to like the idea of downsizing the family, will change anything. How different everything could have been had George, the Duke of Kent, been King... I know this is a delicate topic but I, for one, think that Marina & George would have made an extraordinary King and Queen of England, this branch has always been the most interesting for me personally.

I believe the same as you. It would be a dream for me if the Kent branch were reigning England! I like the Queen Mum & Queen Elizabeth but Marina would have fit better for the role of Queen. And thank you for mentioning the delicate issue first

Wishful thinking but who would you prefer as Georgie's successor? I'd like to see Prince Michael on the throne after George. I just think that had Georgie become King, he wouldn't have died in that accident. Thus Prince Michael would have come of age when his father would die.

I see that The Telegraph has in-depth coverage of Sophie Winkleman’s preparations for attending the Royal wedding. Somewhat surprisingly, it's actually quite enlightening. It's written by the head fashion editor and displays 5 photographs including the evening dress Sophie wore to the International Royal's dinner. They are accompanied by informative captions. Hmm, more raw material for avatars?

As some of you may have noted, my previous posting was apparently covered days earlier on a fashion thread by the redoubtable Dierna23 <g> [and too- Lenora].

Well, I don’t believe the following’s been cited…
That Lord Freddie has been recruited as an actor by his wife

Indeed, Sophie Winkleman won double first-class honours at Cambridge University for English including playwriting. And she’s taken this in hand by writing a quarter hour film starring (well, featuring) Lord and Lady Frederick Windsor.
It’s described as a comedy/drama directed by Kate Coggins.

Below is an excerpt from the article:
“It is morning in a glamorous hotel room in London. A young man and woman are playing a game. But is Scrabble the only game being played? The two players stake their claim on the board and score points against each other in more ways than one. The power switches hands more often than the letter bag and suddenly there’s a whole lot more at stake than just triple-word scores.
This piece was written and performed by Sophie Winkleman (Peep Show, The Chronicles of Narnia) with newcomer Freddie Windsor, both of whom share a passion for Scrabble.
Sophie Winkleman first began writing with the Cambridge Footlights. The show she co-wrote and performed in garnered the Footlights its first Perrier nomination in twenty years. She wrote her first film with Ben Miller which is in development with the UK Film Council. As an actor, she is a member of the National Youth Theatre, and has performed in numerous stage productions, including George Bernard Shaw’s Man and Superman and Gallileo’s Daughter, both directed by Peter Hall and Moliere’s Don Juan, directed by Thea Sharrock, and has performed at the RSC directed by Lawrence Boswell.”

And all too often the captions are wrong by omission and/or misnomers.
Despite Sophie Winkleman clasping her husband’s arm, she was unacknowledged by Zimbio

Now on to the illuminating part-
The fashion journal Vogue has meticulous coverage of Lady Frederick Windsor’s Haute couture for the recent royal wedding.
It includes a short bio about Sophie and news about Julian Fellowes new TV series, Titanic which Sophie has a substantial role. By the way, Mr. Fellowes has written two fine books that accent aristocratic niceties with a dry humour. I recommend these novels to members of this forum.

Returning to the primary subject, Vogue has presented a slideshow detailing a close-up examination of Sophie Winkleman’s fitting and accessories AND her diamond wedding ring.
The first of 14 (!) pictures shows Lady Windsor’s remarkable similarity to Samantha Cameron although I prefer photos 6, 7, 13 and 14.

Such a great gallery - Sophie is simply a stunning beauty! To me she was probably the best dressed guest at this recent royal wedding. Thanks for providing all the links and information, Nonesuch!

The quarter hour film sounds interesting, it must be thrilling and great fun for them to work together. At least I know it from own experience how awesome it can be to work on artistic projects together with people you love.

Do you know if that movie is already "out" now or where/when we can watch it? I'm also looking forward to the Titanic series, I'm sure that Sophie will be marvelous in historical adaptions!

Hi Dierna, I’m glad that you appreciate the information and I concur with your observations regarding Sophie W. I guess I find intellect and pulchritude as riveting especially when embodied in a “kind” person/lady. And I use that adjective freely since I am actually quoting two sources in their description of her character.
I myself am more of a “doesn’t suffer fools gladly type” until I pass by a reflective surface <G>
Seriously, I hope your kitty is feeling better; it’s said that hot chicken soup is salubrious for people and cats that are “under the weather.”

Finally, perhaps under the aegis of a film festival (I’m speculating), Sophie and Lord Frederick’s Scrabble short was released in the UK this January fifth.
