That's a very interesting observation on Will and Harry.

Prince Harry: Relationship Suggestions and Musings 2015
They were last seen in Scotland on Sunday with Charles. They still could have been in Scotland on Tuesday. Why should Kate leave her toddler, nursing child and husband behind in Scotland to go have drinks in a pub for her brother in laws 31st birthday?
Why didn't Harry delay his Africa trip a week or two to go to Charlotte's christening?
There is technology where people can have conversations face to face from across the globe. The Cambridges could have wished Harry a happy birthday via Skype. The same as they could with Pippa who was in Sweden for her birthday

Yeah....interesting. Unless there was another get together behind closed doors I too am thinking along those lines.
I mean, there were quite a few members of his circle that did not attend that pub outing...

Why should they go to Harry's birthday when he never returns the favor. To the publics and media's knowledge he has never been to any of Catherine's birthdays. His history with William isn't too sterling, either.
Let's look at William's documented birthdays
2003- Big 21st Africa theme party at Windsor Castle. I'll assume Harry was there.
2004- William spends his birthday watching football at a pub. Harry not there.
2006- William has "Arabian Nights" party at Highgrove. Harry rumored not there.
2008-William has party at Highgrove. Harry was probably there because the two had a polo match the same day nearby.
2009- William spends his birthday in Fowley, Cornwall with Catherine and friends. Harry not there.
2012- William has his 30th birthday in Wales with Catherine and a bunch of friends. Harry not there.
2013- William is in Northhumberland for Percy/van Straubenzee wedding.
2014- William had a barbecue at Anmer Hall. Harry not there.
2015- Harry not there. He left for Africa in the early morning hours of William's birthday. Even though he made sure to stay in England for Eugenie's party on the 20th. lmao
So we don't have reason to believe that Harry has been to any of William's birthdays since 2008. So why should William go to his?
Yet he never misses Andrew, Beatrice, and Eugenie's birthdays! (Unless he's out of country for the army.)
He always went to Isabella Branson and Sam Branson's birthday parties while he was dating Cressida, too.
I've been saying for a long time that William and Harry move in completely different orbits. They may be brothers, but they aren't close friends.

If not attending ones birthday party is a sign of not being close. Prince Charles isn't close with Prince George because he is 0 for 2 on birthday party attendance and he didn't show up at Harry's party either. Neither did Bea and Eugenie because they were in NYC.

Some of those birthday misses can be explained by conflicting schedules because of army/Air Services duties however. BTW William and Harry were both groomsmen at the Percy/Straubenzee wedding, so they were together at Alnwick in 2013.
Charles non-attendance at his son's party can be explained by the predominantly under-35 yrs guest list.

Or that everybody are adults and birthday party attendance isn't that important. Harry isn't a 5 year who invited his schoolmates to his party and no one showed.

It's not all about that party, though I brought it up on the other thread. Nor is it about the very different circumstances of their private lives. William and Harry will probably always love each other like brothers, but as adults they just don't appear close any more. You never hear about them socialising together or spending spare time together. There are a few sparse exceptions, a shoot in Spain, weddings of mutual friends, and that's it. It's obvious to me that they've grown apart.

How do any of us know what is going on in anyone's life? Seriously how do we know how much contact they are in when they are not in public view? I am not saying that they are or are not close, I am saying I do not know.

To be fair, I think William and Harry have just a normal relationship, as any other couple of siblings. I do think though, that they have drifted a bit apart, as it is bound to happen when one of the brothers start a family... Nothing dramatic or out of the ordinary scheme of life.

Yes, I am aware that Harry lives at Nott Cott and the Cambridges are at 1A when they're in London.

Well, that happens. My sister and I are two extremly different people with very different interests and friends. But we adore each other and have an amazing time when hanging out. We just don't hang out often or with eachothers friends because we are very different people.

How often are William and Harry even in the same place? Not often. William was University and Harry Eton and Gap year. Then they were at different locations in the military except for couple of months at same RAF base. William leaves RAF moves into Apt 1A in 2013. At same time, Harry leaves to walk to South Pole. This year Harry has been out of the country for most of the year.
Harry walking over to Apt 1a isn't going to make the papers because there isn't going to be a photograph. We don't know how often they see other when both are in London.
A lot people don't live by their siblings. I live 700 miles away from mine. I see her 3 times a year. Our relationship is better now then we were kids sharing the same room.

Nice research. I agree that birthdays are not a perfect litmus test for strength of relationship. I have friends who would cut me in a moment if i did not birthday it up with them - it's important to them and so I show up. Then I have friends who are far more casual and understanding. One of my brothers does not celebrate his birthday (much less mine) while the other likes dinners out vaguely around his birth date. And none of that says anything about how close we are.

I think their relationship is just your average sibling relationship. Ups and downs.
The online 'competition' between the brothers skewers things I think.
Harry's supporters treat the brothers as members of a boy band and in their eyes Harry needs all the attention, all the adoration all the love.
To say anything positive about William is to somehow 'betray' Harry. I really think it stems from many Harry supporters not accepting the fact he won't be king.
So I think the online competition tends to impact how people view William and Harry's real life relationship

Thank you for saying exactly what I´m thinking. And I mean not just in this matter.
I can not understand this "competition" and why some people tend to see something negative in every action from William or Harry.

Why is saying that I don't feel that William and Harry are as close as they once were a negative against William. I genuinely feel that they aren't. Am I not allowed to say so?
By the way, speaking for myself as an admirer of Harry the last thing I would want to see him as is King. It wouldn't suit him at all.

Exactly. This is the case with most siblings. And they probably do like my family. We text and ask how they are doing, we send funny clips and stuff that we think the other one would like, we have talks on the phone and skype and send pictures etc. You keep in contact even if you don't go out to dinners together!

Very true. Life and personal time and personalities change situations in all our lives. How many of us attended each of our siblings or sometimes parents birthday parties [how many still have after the age of 25]. Most of the time a quiet dinner in a great restaurant with spouse or children is a "party" for some. Cards and small gift through mail marking their day is nice, especially when their lives take them to another state or country. Everyone's life is different.

Harry may like things just the way they are. He get all the trappings without all of the responsibility. The incident in Las Vegas blew over pretty quickly. Had it been William, I think there would have been an outcry over wether he was fit to be king. Harry doesn't have that problem. Charles states an opinion, and people are screaming. Andrew associates with some shady people, and was involved in questionable business dealings, and it just dies down. "Heavy is the head that carries the crown."

Thank you Honeybees for being the voice of reason. IMHO Harry like every other person on this planet does not have to share his private life with the world.
