The Younger Royals & Americans
Hey,
Would William, harry, Beatrice and Eugenie and Little Princess Louise be allowed to marry americans? what would british people think? and other commonwealth realms if say if an american woman was their future Queen? i dont think Zara and Peter count for this because they dont have no titles or royal duties. would william be allowed to marry an american? (I luv Kate Middleton! future Queen Catherine!!)

They are allowed to marry anyone as long as they are Protestant, as far as I am aware. Princess Beatrice is currently dating an American actually. So maybe there could be a English/American Wedding!? lol

The only rule is the spouse must not be Roman Catholic and the Queen's permission should be obtained. In any case they can marry whoever they want, the worst that would happen is they would lose their place in the Line of Succession. They would still be Prince/Princess/Lady etc.

Yes, there'd be nothing to stop them marrying Americans.

Some would be supportive, and some wouldn't. There's no reason why Americans can't marry into the royal family, same as anyone else.

Beatrice's current beau is a Catholic Italian/American so as things stand she would lose her place in succession if she married him. Her last boyfriend was the heir to the Fiat empire and he was also a Catholic.

It is a visit for The International Awards or the American equivalent.

Just one little correction. Its Richard Milhous Nixon.
Amazing to realize how many US presidents she's met in her reign!

She looks so glamorous and stunning in the first years of her reign. I love the photo of HM dancing with President Ford, I had no idea they danced together. I would love love love to see a State Visit either to the UK or US during the Obama years. That would be a wondrous affair.

Now this thread has become active after about 3 years, it has reminded me of a very humorous gaffe that happened between President George Bush and Queen Elizabeth II when she visited the White House in 1976. I did some digging and found the incident I was thinking about. It happened as President Bush was addressing the Queen in a formal greeting.
"The American people are proud to welcome your majesty back to the United States, a nation you've come to know very well. After all you've dined with 10 US presidents. You've helped our nation celebrate its bicentennial in 17 ... in 1976," Mr Bush said.
"Wrong year," muttered the Queen.
