May I ask people who wish to point out an error to do so in a polite manner rather than a nasty one.
I have had a few such PM's and it is rather hurtful. I do this as a labour of love to share with all of you but when someone then sends a PM about something I have missed and does so in a nasty tone it makes me question whether it is worth it.
I have had a few nasty PM about this - people questioning my sanity for wanting to do this at all so please if you wish to point something out please be polite or don't do it at all.

What you do here, Iluvbertie, is something that is unique to TRF and its a huge advantage for us that really do enjoy and pay attention to the painstaking work you do each week to bring us a concise accounting of what the British Royal Family does.
Just remember that if anyone has a problem with it, its *their* problem and nasty PMs are easily solved with the one good word called "delete". Those PMS aren't a reflection on you at all but on the persons writing them.

Oh I’m so sorry you have had that happen. I hope they now know how rude they have been and send a apology

Your copious hours of laboring over the engagements on our behalf is something for which I should express my gratitude. I fully agree with what Osipi said.

I second all the positive thoughts Iluvbertie, you do a damn good job for all of us to benefit from your labor of love. The only thing you should be hearing at the very least is "thank you". I doff my hat in gratitude,

I hope this post wasn’t referring to the short thank you message I sent. I was just trying to be short and concise, not offensive in any way and I hope this wasn’t how it came across. Perhaps I missed a nuance in a foreign language, if so I apologise. I really appreciate everything you do and I know it’s a lot of work .

No way. I didn't even see your Thank You until after I had made this post.
I received a couple of rude PMs yesterday and have received a few others over the last couple of months questioning my sanity for wanting to do this.
For those who don't know:
In late 2011 my father died and I was very, very close to him. I went into a very bad depression, even worse than when my mother died. My family tried but just couldn't help me. My psychiatrist said I needed a new hobby as my previous hobbies weren't helping (and arthritis wasn't helping as I love doing tapestry and knitting but my fingers make this hard). 2012 was Jubilee Year and at the end of 2011 I remembered reading Tim O'Donovan's figures for 2011 I decided to keep my own record for 2012. Part way through the year I let on here that I was doing so and agreed to share my figures with the group. As the years have gone on I have done more and more - now out of enjoyment as much as therapy.
Some time later - in 2014 - I was also diagnosed as high functioning autistic - which explains why, at times, I can be quite picky about the littlest thing.
Sorry if this seems a bit personal but I thought by explaining a bit more about myself to explain why I enjoy doing this and sharing it with people here but also why I may react or even overreact at times.

Eh, I think those of us who have ‘’weird’’ hobbies have to accept that not many people will understand them and just ignore these comments. Some people are just rude and should get a . There’s a lot of us who appreciate what you do, even when we don’t say it, so don’t let a few bad apples spoil something you like doing.
For example, no one in real life shares my royal hobby, most of them don’t even know which European countries have royal families. Which is why I really appreciate this board where I can share my interest with like-minded people.

Sometimes going outside of oneself is a path into finding oneself. Can't remember who said that. Buddha maybe? The point is that because of a hobby and sharing it with a global community, I think you've found a whole bunch of people that appreciate you, admire you and value your knowledge and feel a kinship with you through your posts and your dedication to making The Royal Forums what it is, a royal archive of a wealth of information.
Heck. You're better and more precise than Tim O'Donovan. Since I joined here in 2008, its been your posts and your wisdom and patience with all the mistakes I've made in learning things that qualifies you in my mind as my Royal Mentor of sorts.
Sometimes pointing out and dealing with the ugly, you find the beautiful that can come out of it. Keep calm and carry on. You're appreciated.

Why in hell would anyone do that to you? What you do takes lots of dedication, effort and time on your part to inform us here what the BRF has done. That is loyalty and love to us here......I am so sorry that this happened to you, I truly am. There are meanies everywhere in this world and from all my life's experiences just hold your head very high, and walk on by for they are not worth your time. Just know that you have my support for I read what you comment here and I so admire all the education and work that you do.......leave them in the dust under your feet.

Weekly Update to 19th April, 2018
Due to CHOGM this was quite a busy week overall. It should be remembered that most of Edward’s engagements, however, were in Australia. He had a busy week including landing back in the UK and then going to the dinner that evening.
The CC described the evening event as a ‘dinner’, not a ‘gala dinner’ which has been used in the past at times.
This week does see three new royals enter the ‘official engagements for the year’ list – Eugenie, Michael and Marie-Christine. Despite how often we have seen Meghan she still hasn’t appeared in the CC. She will start to appear on the 19th May, of course. Her columns are already set up in my Excel spreadsheet (as has Jack’s but I don’t expect to see him in the CC other than for his wedding).
I found it interesting that Tim didn’t attend the dinner.
Total Engagements with Individual Percentage of Total
HM The Queen – 86 (78 – up 8 – 7.9%)

This isn't a 'private wedding' though. A 'private wedding' doesn't get TV coverage etc.
Zara's wedding was a private wedding with no mention in the CC.
William - along with his uncles and aunt's wedding were public weddings and so were in the CC.
I expect Harry's wedding to also be in the CC. If not then Meghan will appear sometime afterwards but as she will be becoming an HRH and a Princess of the UK on her wedding day I would expect that it will be in the CC.
I doubt that Eugenie's will be though - as she isn't a working royal, is so far down the line of succession etc etc.
Harry is the child of the future King and as such his wedding would be an official event.

Obviously none of the Cambridge children will be carrying out royal duties for well over 20 years, but is there likely to be enough royal engagements for them to do? By this time, the number of working royals is likely to fall significantly, so three new young royals could mean a sudden increase in the royal workload, which may not be needed or even welcomed at that time.

But we don't know whether Charlotte, the new sibling and any more that might come along would necessarily want to go into public life after university, do we? By the time William is on the throne there may well be a Dutch-style system in place, in which only the heir and (eventually) his spouse undertake public engagements. The younger siblings may have careers outside Royal life.

As much as I live the royal family, to any other ordinary person who doesn't fully understand how they are financed, the BRF does seem to be expanding continuously!
