Solliden's Garden Days

Welcome to participate in Solliden's Garden Days. In addition to being able to enjoy Solliden's fantastic castle park, you will get to meet several different companies, associations and profiles that offer lots of tips and inspiration for your garden. It is also possible to buy plants, pots, seeds etc. to take home with you. On the croquet court you can also see our Themed Garden Exhibition's greenhouses from Classicum, furnished by the profiles Ernst Kirchsteiger, Malin Björkholm, Paul Svensson and Kajsa Vildängen. Both Paul and Kajsa are on site at their greenhouses on Saturday.
Garden journalist Gunnel Carlsson is also on hand to give special walks in the park and artist Susanne Demåne shows her exhibition in English Park.

Traditional Harvest Festival at Solliden Palace on September 29-October 2.
Welcome to a lovely harvest festival in the palace park here at Solliden. There will be special guided tours, tractor tours, sale of fruit and vegetables from the park, autumn menu and freshly baked goods at Kaffetorpet and much more. It is also the last chance to see the season's three exhibitions.
On Friday and Saturday there is a special guided tours with artist Susanne Demåne, who shows and talks about her unique exhibition Genesis in the English Park.
On Saturday at 15.00 is the inauguration of Susanne Demåne's new permanent work in the English Park.

Solliden Sessions concerts at Solliden also in the summer 2023.

The hit concept Solliden Sessions returns in 2023 to our small stage right next to Kaffetorpet. Here we offer songs, jazz, pop and hits with some of Sweden's top artists. The concerts will be smaller and more intimate.
The first artists are now released. We will continuously update the list as soon as the artist and date are ready!

Summer is coming and so is Session's concert program. Although already now we can reveal two exciting acts in the form of Lasse Stefanz as well as Jack Vreeswijk and the rock hero Brolle who interprets Cornelis. More news soon, so stay tuned. Now we're heading towards the heat!

For the third year, "Solliden sessions" are organized at Solliden.
So far, 15 artists have been booked and a few more may be added.
- The royal family is very satisfied, both with the concerts and the reception. The family has visited several of the concerts and met the artists, says Solliden Palace's project manager Pernilla Klintberg in a press release.
- We would like to book some unique gems for the audience at Solliden's concerts. Gilbert O'Sullivan and King Carl XVI Gustaf are incidentally of the same golden year. I expect it to be a nice nostalgia concert that will make a memorable impression, says concert producer Patrik Krall.
According to Patrik Krall, the royal family has from the beginning been strongly involved in the musical performances at Solliden.
- If I were to come up with an artist that I know they have asked for, it is Niklas Strömstedt, reveals Patrik Krall.

Jubilee exhibition in glass
Shown in the English Park 11 May – 1 October
On the occasion of King Carl XVI Gustaf's 50th anniversary as regent, Orrefors Kosta Boda has been invited to, in collaboration with five selected artists, install public glass sculptures in the Solliden Palace park. The initiative is a continuation of the popular exhibition of Bertil Vallien's glass art shown in the park in 2021.
The artists are — in addition to Bertil Vallien, who is also participating this time — Åsa Jungnelius, Johan Röing, Ellen Ehk Åkesson and Markus Åkesson.
Maria Lomholt, responsible for art glass at Orrefors Kosta Boda: "I think you can say that it is a selection that is representative of where we at Orrefors Kosta Boda and Swedish glass art stand today. The selection builds a bridge between the generations, where Bertil represents the tradition while the others are artists with whom we have started long-term collaborations in recent years."
It is the third year in a row that the English Park has been transformed into an art gallery. The concept has been highly appreciated by both visitors and the Royal Family.
Carolina Thaysen, operations manager at Solliden: "We are so happy about the collaboration with Orrefors Kosta Boda, which means that we now get a really nice follow-up on the last two years' valued exhibitions. The glass embedded in the greenery of the palace park was magical when Bertil Vallien made his exhibition in 2021 and it is exciting that he is now returning with his artist colleagues who probably see both the glass and the place from other perspectives."

The Themed Gardens Exhibition - Glazed 2023
For the ninth year in a row, we offer Themed Gardens exhibition at Gustaf V's old croquet court. The idea is to give the palace park a new dimension and a contemporary element and to give visitors inspiration and new ideas. This year's exhibition is once again about greenhouses, these lovely rooms in the garden that are not only a place for cultivation but also for recreation, creativity and socializing. This year we have four new profiles in place to inspire visitors by decorating each greenhouse in their very own unique way.
The exhibition opens on July 1 and remains in the park for the season until October 1.

Markus Åkesson is shown open air
You are warmly welcome to enjoy artist Markus Åkesson's magical paintings embedded in the greenery of the palace park down by our stone part. The exhibition is a collective exhibition where the artist himself selected approx. 30 paintings from 2011 until today. It is the first time that Markus Åkesson shows paintings in the open air. As it is not possible to show the originals in an outdoor environment, images of the works have been printed on aluminum plates. The plates have then been framed in oak wood from Solliden. The exhibition is on display throughout the season.

Solliden Spirar – Art & Garden Days
May 11 at 10:00 → May 14 at 17:00
A warm welcome to Solliden Spirar, our season opening which lasts four days. Here we focus on garden and art in our beautiful palace park. Of course, we run our popular tractor tours down to our greenhouses inside the private area, while external exhibitors give you lots of tips and ideas for your garden. We also show this year's new art exhibitions in the palace park. In the palace shed, we sell plants, gardening books, tools, etc. and have nice opening offers, and at Kaffetorpet there will be a spring-inspired menu!
Solliden Spirar is part of the Öland Spirar event with activities all around the island.

Viktor Norén had a concert at Solliden Sessions on 21st July.
He and his band were given a tour at the Palace park and Gift Shop. Viktor made many happy by singing during the tour, Solliden Palace published some videos:

There will be a Agility Cup at Solliden:
25 July at 10:00 → 26 July at 18:00
We fill Solliden with dogs and compete in agility for two whole days.
We will see agility dogs in five size classes competing on courses that challenge both technique and speed. On day one, three jumping races are held and on day two, the cup is decided with three agility races. Then the cup winners are announced!
