On Kneuterdijk 6 you can find the 'Johan de Witt House', named for 'Raadspensionaris' Johan de Witt, who only lived here for 3 years. In 1874 King Willem III bought the house for his youngest son, Prince Alexander, who would live here until his death in 1884. After the prince died the house was sold by the King.

The Johan de Witt House is owned by the State and mainly in use as a representative venue for members of Parliament, or for an example for the formation of a new Cabinet.
