The Swedish Royals and the Global Child Forum
________________________
The royal family attended the World Child and Youth Forum, at the Royal
Palace, November 19, 2010. The World Child and Youth Forum (WCYF) was
launched by The King in his Christmas speech last year, and has long been
a dream shared by The King and The Queen. The idea is to create a forum
for inspiration and support, to ensure that the UN Convention on the Rights
of the Child is adhered to.

With this "joint forces" (aka, nearly the entire family joins), they want to show "the show must go on" and "back to normality". Surely a wise step. And it also show: "the family stays together -- strong as always".
I hope, there will be no more details revealed.... Let´s get back to normality, if possible.

The World Child & Youth Forum is not associated with World Childhood foundation. It is an initiative started by the King and Queen in 2009. Below is the part of the King's holiday message where he talks about the forum;
In traditional Christmas speeches on December 25, Swedish King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia announced the launch of a new forum for children and youth in honour of the 20th anniversary of the United Nation's Convention of the Right's of the Child. - of the UN Convention on the Right's of the Child. We hope that the first forum can be held in Stockholm at the end of next year,” he said during the speech, which was broadcast on Swedish Radio.
The king described the forum as a “shared dream” that he and Queen Silvia have fostered following trips abroad where they have witnessed the poverty and unjustice that many children are exposed to. King Carl also said he has been inspired by charity organisations and the scout movement, which he is also involved with.
“Parenthood also means that your commitment to other children and youth grows. We feel that with our status comes a duty to try to contribute to improving the conditions for children and youth across Sweden and in the world,” he said.

Thank you for pointing this out, grevinnan; I was thinking of doing the same as it doesn't make sense to assemble the posts about this relatively new Forum under the topic 'World Childhood Foundation'.
