When December comes, we all need a little light in the darkness – and this year perhaps more than ever before. To bring some more light and hope to our lives, about fifteen places (Stockholm City Hall, Sergels Torg, the Concert Hall, the Royal Dramatic Theatre, the Stockholm City Museum and the Nobel Prize Museum etc.) around Stockholm will be lit up for Nobel Week Lights Stockholm on 5-13 December as part of the 2020 Nobel Week.

With everything going on this year I almost forgot about the Nobels.
It will be such an odd year not to see the galas in Sweden and gowns and such. The big royal event of the year that sticks out the most to me for us missing.
Glad they have found safe ways to still honor those who won this year.

Margareta Thorgren:
- With the new restrictions, it will be a completely digital broadcast. As the King will not be able to award the Nobel Prize to the Nobel Laureates this year, he will instead send a digital greeting to the Nobel Laureates.
The prize winners have already received their prizes, including through Swedish embassies around the world.

The king and queen invited a few photographers to the Royal Palace a week ago.
Margareta Thorgren:
- There will be a digital Nobel Prize award ceremony at 16.25. SVT broadcasts together with the Nobel Foundation and the rest of the royal family will watch the broadcast from their respective homes.

Svensk Damtidning speculates, what kind of dress Victoria would have had at the Nobel Prize ceremony, if it would have been held as usual. Svensk Damtidning's sources say that Victoria has been in contact with swedish Totême, the brand of Elin Kling and Karl Lindman, which was praised as Designer of the Year at the ELLE gala this year. Whether it will be a Totême dress at next year's Nobel instead remains to be seen.

The Stockholm City Hall looks lovely. Usually the flowers at the Nobel Prize Award Ceremony come from San Remo, but not this year, the pandemic put a stop to this as well.

I realize what's going on in the world, but I think it would have been nice for the SRF to wear their gala outfits for the message. The whole thing was scaled back as it is, and I don't think it would have been flaunting excess or anything. They are the Nobel Prizes, and it would have a little more light in December.
