The Nobel Prize 2002 - 2012

When I see the skirt in this light it's exactly the same colour! I'm pretty sure it's a recycled dress. I don't rember seeing the top though...

By the way, I'm not so fond of Victorias tiara. Otherwise I think she looked amazing!! ;)

Just came home, couldn´t follow the hole thing today until now, it feels odd. Usually I sit in front of the TV at 17.00 until late night. I´ve just seen the pictures here so far but I really liked Victorias dress and it must be the same skirt, I mean WHY SHOULD SHE BUY ANOTHER SKIRT SO IDENTICAL AS THE ONE FROM THE JORDANIAN VISIT??????????????
Silvias dress was a bit boring, it feels lika a dress for any dinner, not the Nobel dinner, but maybe she´s leaving space to Victoria and Madeleine to glow.
Madeleine´s dress, I really can´t decide, but the face, the hair and make up looks better than ever!

Is there anyone else that comes to think about Mickey Mouse when Victoria wears the 4 button tiara, because I do, weird or? ( but it´s better this heigh upon her head than a bit lower on her forhead)

OMG, Alva. I just noticed that. You are funny. This seems like a funny board.

 ..you´re right, like a mutated mickey mouse.
If I wouldn´t know the princesses and you would show me two pictures of them from this evening..I would say Madeleine is the crown princess and not Victoria...and that just because of the tiaras. Victoria should have chosen a more regal one. The 4-button-tiara was her teenage/young twen-tiara.

Now that I am home and can appreciate these lovely pictures posted by everybody I can seem them more properly without the glare from my ceiling-high windows. And I can really appreciate the lovely make up job on Victoria. Perfect for an evening function but not so overdone so that it's obvious, like make up with a side of Crown Princess Victoria! You see first Victoria's lovely features, which the make up enhances but doesn't overwhelm.

Victoria is pretty, but Madeleine is stunning. She could be a model.
When we discussed, if Maxima could work as model I said the same as now. Both (Maxima and Madeleine) are cute and pretty, but the current model-type looks so different in comparison with them!
And IMO Madeleine tries so much harder to be beautiful...without the makeup/hair style she looks pretty the same way like her sister. Ok, her chin is not so prominent, and she has a little bit less the affection to those chubby cheeks like her sister.
But that´s just my opinion.

Madeleine had a subdued look on some of the pics I saw on another MB.
Certainly a quieter look than the open candor on her sister's.
... and I wondered, is there something going on?

Where oh where did you all find that cute little face with a crown? I'll just have to stick with the asterisks to rate the gowns of the Swedish royal family... hmmmm...

***** for Victoria, Madeleine, and Silvia. They all looked beautiful. Victoria looked like Cinderella from the Disney movie. I didn't really like the pale long-sleeved blue gown she wore awhile back, but this one is really nice. Silvia's pink dress and matching jewels were fabulous, but that's no big deal, as Silvia always looks great. And as for Madeleine... I didn't really take to her gown the first time I saw it, but the more I see it, the more I like it. It's got an antique, Old World flair. I don't normally like chokers either, but Madeleine's went perfectly with the neckline of her gown. Any other necklace would have been hard to pull off with that gown!

Even the women's pale blue sashes matched or complemented their attire. Very nice!

Both Sweden and Norway host the Nobel ceremony? How does this work? Why isn't the Norway royal family shown here?

I enjoyed all of your comments. As usual, they were very funny and very illuminating. It made for some great reading.

"Victoria looked like Cinderella from the Disney movie."

Yes, I agree.

I agree that Crown Pncss Victoria should have worn a different tiara. Perhaps the one below which is very regal.

One of the neighbors a couple of streets over from me was a Nobel winner this year in Chemistry. It's really exciting, he seems to be a really nice man. Anyway, looking at the dinner seating chart, his wife is next to Carl-Phillip and he is across the table and down a seat from Victoria. I thought this was pretty cool. :flower:

Also, I thought everyone looked great and I actually like the tiara Victoria was wearing. She seems to have it a lot so maybe it's one of her favorites? Her dress was a lovely shade of blue.

I was looking for more photos of Madde on the Yahoo list. They had a whole bunch of photos but when I did a search for her nothing comes in. I noticed why. For that photo above, the caption reads "Crown Princess Victoria"

And for Victoria's photo it says:

"Princess Madleine of Sweden"

I didn't think Victoria looked very happy when I saw her on TV. It looked like she tried really hard to smile. Do you think she's tired? She has been working really hard for some weeks now. I have to say I'm a bit worried. I don't want her to get sick again.

We have noted her before being cold and looking tired so maybe she did yesterday as well. Madde looked bored too.

could it be that they did not have new dresses becouse of next year with weddings, probebly more state visits and Nobel dinner and castle dinners and they need to buy several dresses next year?

when the state visit from Jordan was
many of our members thought that the dress Madeleine wore
was the same as she wears now
and the same dress as she wore at the crown prince wedding in Norway
but we can now see that this dress has a other neckline...

In its never-ending strive for journalistic excellence, the Aftonbladet of Sweden, has set up a poll on its website. The poll question being:

Vem hade snyggast klänning? Which roughly translates to "Who had the tidiest dress? or the most presentable dress? Anyway, after more than 2,200 votes and without a doubt many more to go, here are the results so far:

Silvia (13.5 %)
Victoria (29.7 %)
Madeleine (51.9 %)
Anitra Steen (4.9 %)

For those of who who don't know, Anitra Steen is the wife(that's all I'm saying) of the prime minister of Sweden, Göran Persson.

But I think that Madeleine has altered the neckline after the Jordanian state visit. Compare these pictures and see for yourselves.

I think this also is a recycled dress from the beginning.

Do you think her relationship with Jonas has something to do with her new "matronly" look? Was she still with Erik last years Nobel?

IBL has over 100 pictures of the NPA in Sweden. I have now 96 on my hard disc...and I will start to post them...if you think it´s too much just stop me ;)
BTW what is Göran Persson doing in the pic above. Is this a mobile phone, and should Victoria listen in??
And is the Nobel prize gala the only event, where you can watch the Royal eating?
