Emil can you the history Why the sisters' of King Carl Gustaf was named this?
What I remember they lived at the "castle" Haga.

What happened to Brigetta? There just stopped being pictures of her in your group there? Did she marry the Shea(sorry spelled wrong I think)?

In 1961 HRH Princess Birgitta of Sweden married; HSH Johann-Georg Carol Leopold Eitel-Friedrich Meinrad Maria Hubertus Michael Prince von Hohenzollern ("Hansi").

I always wondered where Madeline got her coloring and her eyes...since I don't see it in either her father or her mother. Margaretha and Madeline have the same big blue eyes.

Hansi is Princess Birgittas husand since 1961 and the late Shah of Iran married the iranian women Farah Diba.

Is there any good webbite about the princesses?

Is there someone who has more pictures of the Haga Castle?

Great pictures Emil

Haga Slott is the work of Nicodemus Tessin the Elder. His good friend Gustaf Persson Natt och Dag (portrait) was master of the medieval castle Haga, and was convinced by Tessin to build a contemporary grand manor in its place. Construction was completed in 1670.

Before the new manor house was built, the castle was home to, among others, the man who would be King of Sweden three separate times during the fifteenth century, Karl VIII Knutsson.

The Haga Princesses

bumping up this thread for new members

What I understand its only Princess Christina that takes on royal duties today. I would like to know if all of the princess did some royal duties when they were younger

They did some royal duties when they were younger yes, but since they got married they stoped and became full time "wifes"

Princess Christina works for the Red Cross btw...

I was just curious about King Gustav's sisters. Where do they live, and how many children do they each have? I assuming that they are all married.

Thank you for this GrandDuchess, that´s great!
What a pity that 2 of this marriages are only existing "officially" today. When you look at the facts on their weddings it looked so perfect and promising.

I wonder if prince Carl Philip and princess Madeleine will have a similar role at the Royal court as princess Christina...or if they will disappear from the limelight like the other 3 sisters.

here with their mom and brother

have you seen this before

Glamourous Swedish Princess

Hello!
I'm looking for the name and pictures of a Swedish princess who was quite famous in the sixties.
She was blonde and very beautiful. I think she was called the BB of the North.
I've seen a photo of her in an article about Madde years ago where they were comparing the two princesses' love life.
Could someone help me find the name of this princess?
Thankx.

It's Birgitta! Thanks very much Denism. I've been to her tread but I'm disappointed there's not much pics of her as a young lady. She was truly stunning from what I remember.
And also, why I'm not surprised you were the first to visit a tread called Glamorous Swedish princess?:D :p

Yes, that would be great! There was a documentary about Christina made a few years ago when she turned 60, but I have never seen any of the other sisters on Tv

I've been thinking... If their father Gustaf Adolf hadn't died and eventually had become king, Maragretha would probably have the queen now and her children would be the heirs to the thrown!

why do you think that the law about succesion came 1980 i think

But their father would probably still have been alive in 1980, if he hadn't ended up in that accident, so Carl Gustaf wouldn't have ascended the thrown yet. But then, I guess Carl Gustaf would have become crown prince after his grandfather's death anyway, and grown-ups are seldom stripped of being heirs appearant. Haakon in Norway wasn't, even though his sister Märtha Louise was older than him.

did the haga sessorna also take part in the innonce ball like victoria and madeleine
