The 70th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting (27 June – 2 July 2021) takes place virtually as an online event. Because of the continuously uncertain situation and the lack of perspectives and guidelines for meetings and larger events in Germany, the Council for the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings made this decision heavy-heartedly.
The previous plan of a hybrid event, meaning online and with some Nobel Laureates and young scientists on site in Lindau, will thus no longer be pursued for this summer.
70th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting Takes Place Online _ The Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings

Countess Bettina Bernadotte, President of the Council for the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings:
“With the Online Science Days 2020 we already offered our participants a great experience. Now the scope of the programme is much larger and the number of active Nobel Laureates is twice as high. And this time we want to bring the Lindau Spirit to life even more strongly via the internet by creating versatile opportunities for exchange between generations and cultures – in terms of a professional context as well as informal encounters.“

Karma is a very popular app used to fight against food waste where businesses, restaurants, coffeshops etc offer leftover food, bread, cakes, smoothies etc at a reduced price. Even some shops use it to sell off goods that are close to their sell buy date. I use it a lot and the use is widespread at least in the bigger Swedish cities. I had no idea that it was founded by one of the Frötuna Bernadottes.

Countess Diana Bernadotte's Hat studio has been opened today, the corona restrictions allow it now.
Only a limited number of customers are allowed to stay in the hat studio. Wearing medical mouth and nose protection is a necessity. A minimum distance of at least 1.5 meters must be maintained. The daily hygiene guidelines must also be observed.

Count Björn and countess Bettina about June on Mainau Flower Island at its website:
Dear visitors,
Summer is slowly but surely arriving on Mainau Flower Island: the roses in the Italian Rose Garden and in the Promenade of Wild and Shrub Roses are exuding their lovely fragrance in an atmospheric and splendid display of blossoms.
In June we also celebrate the shortest night of the year - Midsommar! Popular in Scandinavia and also here on Mainau Island is the traditional Midsummer Festival. This year it will be a little different than usual, but you can still look forward to typical Swedish delicacies on site.

The 7th Mainau Sustainability Dialogue (7. Mainauer Nachhaltigkeitsdialog) was held from Mainau Island online yesterday and today.
This year's dialogue was primarily aimed at mayors and employees as well as service providers from municipalities who are responsible for climate protection in their municipalities. Of course, all other interested groups are also invited. The Dialogue takes place annually in cooperation with the Lennart Bernadotte Foundation on the island of Mainau, this year online due to the corona pandemic.

On Mainau Flower Island
Midsummer, the celebration of the summer solstice, has a long tradition in Sweden and the other Nordic countries, where it doesn't get really dark at night even at this time of the year. It is one of the biggest festivals of the year. The comital Bernadotte family, who have their roots in Sweden, would like to bring this Swedish tradition closer to the guests of the island of Mainau.
But this year everything is a little different. Around the Rothaus Seeterrassen we have put up information for you about the typical Swedish traditions on midsummer. A maypole will also be seen and in the park you will discover many Swedish decorations.
