King Carl Gustaf's eldest relative, Dagmar voin Arbin has passed away on 22nd December at the age of 103 years. Dagmar's daughter Cathrine von Arbin confirmed this to Svensk Damtidning.
Dagmar was the daughter of count Carl Bernadotte af Wisborg and baroness Marianne de Geer. Her grandfather was Prince Oscar Bernadotte, brother of King Gustaf V.
- It's always sad when family members and friends pass away. Dagmar von Arbin had a long and comprehensive life for over 103 years. The royal family wants to keep this private, said Margareta Thorgren.

Nonetheless I think there will be public interest in her life and death, as she was in the public eye and in attendance at royal events for such a long time.

Svensk Damtidning
An era is over in the Bernadotte family - and the royal family is coming to the funeral. The court confirms this to Svensk Damtidning.
On Tuesday, February 4, the royal family say farewell to the family Bernadotte's grand old lady Dagmar von Arbin. A carefully chosen date for members of the royal family to honor her memory.
- Yes, parts of the royal family will be present. But who of them, I will return to that, says Margareta Thorgren.
The funeral will take place at Oscarskyrkan at Östermalm in Stockholm and afterwards the family and relatives will gather for a memorial. The family writes in the obituary that they hope people will think (donate to) Radiumhennets Forskningsfonder (The Cancer Research Funds of Radiumhemmet).

The Cancer Society in Stockholm and the King Gustaf V Jubilee Fund are the two oldest cancer research funds in Sweden
Both funds have the same purpose, i e to support clinical cancer research and they work together under the name Radiumhemmets Forskningsfonder (The Cancer Research Funds of Radiumhemmet).
In English - Radiumhemmets Forskningsfonder

Probably a nod to Dagmar von Arbin's daughter Marianne Flach who died in esophageal cancer in 2006.

Dagmar von Arbin's funeral is on Tuesday 4th February.

According to the court, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia will attend, just like Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel. Also Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia.
- The funeral is private. Those in the royal family who are in Sweden will attend, writes Margareta Thorgren in a text message.
Burial will take place at Oscarskyrkan at Östermalm in Stockholm.
King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia will hold a medal ceremony later that afternoon to "reward outstanding efforts for the good of society" at the Royal Palace.
According to the court, the king and the queen are to attend both the funeral and the medal ceremony.
- The royal couple plans to manage to do both, writes Margareta Thorgren in a text message.

Countess Bettina Bernadotte received on 29th January the EMAS environmental certificate for Mainau GmbH for the next three years.

The Bodensee-Schiffbetriebe and Insel Mainau GmbH have been awarded the EMAS environmental certificate for another three years by the IHK Hochrhein-Bodensee (Chamber of Industry and Commerce Hochrhein-Bodensee).
"Sustainability for the region and the environment" is one of the guiding principles of Mainau GmbH. In the 22nd year the company has now been awarded this demanding company environmental certificate at European level for a further three years. The island of Mainau has been the first tourism company in Germany to implement the European environmental management system EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) as a central part of management since 1998.
Countess Bettina Bernadotte is pleased that the island of Mainau has now been able to bear the EMAS label, which has been achieved again for 22 years. "Mainau GmbH continuously strives for a balance of economic, ecological and social aspects in terms of sustainability. We are proud of the recognition that concrete measures are implemented in day-to-day operations in an exemplary manner and that the company not only complies with the legal requirements, but that numerous individual measures have also been able to demonstrate verifiable improvements in environmental relevance", summarizes the managing director of the island of Mainau.

70th Anniversay of the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings: Around 70 Laureates to Participate
To mark the 70th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting, the organisers are delighted to announce that a record number of highly decorated scientists will be attending: Almost 70 Laureates have already agreed to take part during the week from June 28 to July 3, 2020. From among the latest laureates, William Kaelin, Jr., Michel Mayor, Olga Tokarczuk and M. Stanley Whittingham are expected to attend. The Nobel Laureates represent 13 different nationalities.
Countess Bettina Bernadotte, President of the Council, commented: “We are glad to have a network of scientists that spans the world and bridges the generations. In the history of the conferences since 1951, the relevance of science has been reported again and again, also basic research, which is, after all, an open-ended research. And in later years, its benefits for society became clear – for example magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or cancer therapy as well as, more recently, the lithium-ion battery in all our mobile devices.“
