Disappointing...there doesn't seem to be a lot of media coverage(pictures) for 3-day visit!

Here are some pictures from the visit to Mariefred and Gripsholm Castle yesterday, Thursday 15 September. From Eskilstuna Kuriren.

GrandDuchess, many thanks for posting the lovely and only pictures from visit Gripsholm and Mariefred. It's wonderful, that you find pictures by Eskilstuna Kuriren. No agencies got pictures from this event.

Sigh.... I can understand why the massive Braganca tiara might have become too heavy for The Queen to wear, considering her back problems - but WHY did she have to wear exactly the SAME dress & the SAME jewels as during the only other incoming state visit in 2005 earlier this year, from the Republic of Lithuania?!
Excuse me, but on this occasion, the Swedish Royal Couple did receive the reigning monarchs from Malaysia, and shouldn't there have been just a BIT more consideration regarding this fact, and a bit more glitter? The only newsworthy thing here is that Princess Madeleine wore that (ugly) 6-Button-Tiara for the first time...
All in all: Disappointing.
BTW: I couldn't agree with you more, Larzen! It's absolutely ridiculous that the Swedish Royal budget shouldn't allow for let's say at least half a dozen new evening dresses for Their Queen each year.
If Queen Silvia continues at this rate, I see her becoming the target of all those jokes about Queen Sonja of Norway as being the "Empress-Of-The-Bag-Ladies" that have been gone on forever and deservedly, as Queen Sonja seems to recycle her dresses for decades.
The wives of the German/Spanish/British/American etc. etc. Presidents seem to have a bigger closet, by comparison...
Phew. Are there any pics from the return dinner yet? Maybe any of thje Swedish Royal Ladies squeezed themselves into a new outfit on this occasion? Maybe this might put me in a better mood - so thanks in advance to anyone who might post some photos from the return dinner here!!

All in all, this must be the most low-key state visit by a reigning monarch to another reigning monarch in recent times, and I'm really quite disappointed...
What ever happened to the return dinner during this current Malaysian state visit? Are there no photographs at all from that occasion...? (sigh - - -)
Thank you so much GrandDuchess for finding further pics from this state visit, but as the first gala/welcome dinner turned out to be a little disappointing in terms of glamour IMHO, I just can't wait to see at least some pics from the return gala or dinner... and I would be so grateful to anybody posting some photos. Thanks a lot in advance.

I think that Madeleine looked great in that tiara. Also, I think that part of the reason that the visit may have been more low-key is that the monarchs of Malayasia are not hereditary, but rather rotate every few years (five, I believe)...so maybe they aren't quite at the same "level" as the Swedish monarchs.

That's the 6 button tiara, Princess Lillian uses it some times. Victoria uses the 4-button tiara. If I remeber correctly, there was once a 10-button tiara? Or something like that. It was split into two different tiaras. Maybe...

Thank You. I like the 6 button tiara more than the 4 button one.

Larzen, thanks for posting the pictures from Gala second day at state visit from Malaysia. Finally we see pictures from these events!
Victoria looks wonderful. But the blouse wear Queen Silvia looks not elegant. The jacket which she wear at 7th December 2004 by "250years concert Stockholm castle" in red/gold looks very elegant and go with the outfit of the crown princess.
