On 12–13 October 2017, President Nursultan Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan will visit Sweden on the invitation of HM The King. Several Swedish government ministers will be involved.
Kazakhstan is one of the Government’s 26 prioritised countries for trade and business promotion. There is potential to further increase trade. Kazakhstan is implementing sweeping changes in several sectors of society and there is considerable interest in Swedish solutions, including within sustainable urban planning, which will be one of the areas in focus during the visit.
In 2017 and 2018, both Sweden and Kazakhstan hold non-permanent seats on the United Nations Security Council. There is a common interest in dialogue and cooperation on the issues on the Security Council agenda and on issues of security and development in Central Asia and for disarmament and non-proliferation.
The two-day visit will take place in Stockholm.
Further information about the programme and participants will be published closer to the time of the visit.

The King and Queen will have information from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs on 28th September. This kind of meetings always takes place before a state visit.

This is strange, and no reason is given. I wonder if we will ever see this state visit take place, no matter what the press release says.

It is odd, indeed. As a rule, Kazakhstan avoids cancelling officially announced foreign visits. There is nothing mentioned about the visit in question in local mass media.

No news about re-scheduling this visit. But president Nursultan Nazarbayev made an official visit to Finland on 17th October.

I think everyone involved just wish this to fade way in peoples memory, don't think we should expect either a re-scheduling or official cancelation.
