The menu, where Norwegian seafood is in the spotlight, was developed by restaurateur Karl Ljung from Stureplansgruppen.
- I look forward to offering visitors something really special. We have carefully selected the very best from Norway's clear waters and combine it with flavors and experiences from many corners of the world. The Scandinavian pure taste palette is in focus, but some dishes draw inspiration and ways to eat from afar, says Ljung.

From Haga Palace they left to a symposium at Karolinska Institutet, which is only 3 km from Haga.

Victoria speaking at Karolinska Institutet
"We need to work as a team, a team of knowledge to lead the green transition together." The Crown Princess begins the Norwegian-Swedish state visit and sheds light on our common strength."

Victoria said at her speech among other things:
"The Swedish-Norwegian cooperation is important. Strong Nordic co-operation contributes to stability and prosperity in our part of the world.
At the same time, the pandemic has taught us not to take our community for granted. It is important that we continue to travel to each other's countries, that we meet, talk and nurture our relationships.
That is why Prince Daniel and I are very happy to receive Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit here in Stockholm today, together with a large Norwegian delegation. I look forward to the coming days and hope you have a rewarding visit."

Haakon said at his speech among other things:
"Dear Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel - thank you very much for the warm welcome the Crown Princess and I have received. We always feel at home with you, and in Sweden.
The close relationship between Sweden and Norway is a good example. Cross-border cooperation is so uncomplicated that for many of us it came as a small shock when the pandemic meant that we could no longer travel freely - as we are used to. We are all happy that the borders are open again. It makes it much easier to work actively to strengthen the close and good connections between us."

There is a nice video at this NRK's article.

Haakon and Mette-Marit gave together a speech at the reception, Mette-Marit said among other things:
"We greatly appreciate the close relationship between us. Between Sweden and Norway as a country, but also between our two families. We are so happy for the close friendship with you, Victoria and Daniel, and your lovely family. We are also always so well received by His Majesty the King and Queen Silvia. This means a lot to us. Together we share a long family history that is important to take care of - for us, and for our children. The Crown Prince is a quarter of a Swede, and at home in the dining room at Skaugum hangs a large portrait of Crown Princess Märtha. This is how we are daily reminded of the bonds between us."
Haakon said among other things:
"Both we as Crown Prince and Crown Princess and our countries meet in the commitment to climate and environment, for a sustainable and knowledge-based future, for strengthening young people's opportunities and for everyone who lives with us to feel part of the community. You, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, are doing an important job in these fields that mean a lot - both to individuals, nationally and internationally. We are sure that you make Sweden a slightly better place to live."

Victoria said at her speech at symposium "Reconnecting to the biosphere and stewardship of the anthropocene ocean" at Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences among other things:
"There are many bold promises that look good on paper. But what we need now is no more promises, but to think and act together, and to demonstrate real results.
It is my hope that today’s symposium will be a step in that direction. I look forward to learning more, and to achieving more – Norway and Sweden, together. Today, we are at a point where we can no longer take the ocean, and its services to us humans, for granted."

Haakon said at his speech among other things:
"In 2008 and 2009, Crown Princess Victoria, Crown Prince Fredrik and I actually sailed in those northern waters near Svalbard and Greenland, as part of our common trip to the Arctic.
The ocean connects us – to each other, to nature and to ourselves. You know that feeling when you dive into the ocean, and you feel that burst of joy inside you when you feel the salt water? When you understand that you are part of nature, that you are connected to nature - but also to yourself. When you feel that this is who I am as a human being - you feel that you are alive, right. And that is at least part of why I love the ocean." (...)

What will it take to save the human ocean?
On May 3, the Stockholm Resilience Centre hosted a half-day seminar on how science, policy and business can achieve sustainability in an increasingly crowded ocean space.
HRH Crown Princess Victoria and HRH Crown Prince Haakon are both actively engaged in ocean sustainability. The Swedish Crown Princess has for several years been closely engaged with the SeaBOS initiative, a collaboration between the ten largest seafood companies in the world and leading marine scientists from the centre/SRC and elsewhere.
During the seminar, Their Royal Highnesses highlighted both countries’ close connection to the ocean and emphasized the need to become better stewards of it.
“We share a true passion for the ocean. We need to bring the ocean back into balance. We have a collective opportunity. Let’s take care of the ocean and thereby take care of ourselves,” Crown prince Haakon said.

Svensk Damtidning spoke with Victoria and Mette-Marit at the royals' press meeting, Mette-Marit's words moved Victoria deeply. There is a video at the article.
Svensk Damtidning asked Victoria, how would she describe Mette-Marit? Three words are enough.
Victoria said: Incredibly warm, genuine and thoughtful.
Mette-Marit said she appreciates Victoria very much and is very grateful that Ingrid-Alexandra has such a person as Victoria that she can turn to in her future.

"And also I'm especially happy, since we have a daughter who is heir to the throne, that there's someone like Victoria who she can turn to in the future – which we are very grateful for, plain and simple. That's very important to us on a personal level."

I found that an extremely touching comment, thinking of how the Swedish crown princess's own parents did not want her as heiress to the throne because of her gender - and now she has become a mentor and role model for another future female head of state.

Thank you for the coverage of this visit. It was lovely to see the warmth of the personal connection between the royal families, as well as the common interests of the two kingdoms.

"Visited Stockholm in early May, saw the Swedish Crown Princess couple and the Norwegian Crown Prince couple outside Kulturhuset An enormous number of people (ordinary people, journalists and photographers from Sweden, Norway and Germany) had gathered outside and shouted: "hip, hip, hurray! " on repeated occasions when they came, why I do not really know (not because of any birthday, name day, wedding day or engagement day anyway) but probably it was just to express joy"

Finnish blogger Mikaela Larsson writes besides her own blog about the royals, also a blog to Seura Magazine. She lives in Gothenburg and went there to meet Victoria, Daniel and Haakon. She published an article and her photos about the day at her blog today:
Mikaela was at the station with her friend. She thought there would be no crowd because she hadn't seen the schedule of the visit in the media. She had got detailed information from the Swedish court a few days earlier. There was no large reception, but a small red carpet was laid. There were a few adults and a kindergarten group. The passers-by stayed spontaneously to watch the royals arrive. And there was the police, the media and other staff involved.
Mikaela had two small bouquets in the colors of Swedish and Norwegian flags. She had with her also an envelope for Victoria, which contained a bachelor's thesis she had written in university about Victoria.
Cameras began to flash as the royals stepped off the train. There was no actual public greeting, so the royals greeted their small reception committee and then moved on. Haakon passed quickly, and they couldn't give him flowers. Victoria stopped to greet a few children who had small flower presents.
Mikaela heard Victoria say that they were already a little late on schedule, so for a moment she thought their chance was gone. But she managed to capture Victoria's gaze, and she stopped there. Mikaela gave the flowers and envelope. Victoria talked to them for a moment and was curious about the contents of the envelope. She also greeted Mikaela's friend who gave her the flowers meant to Haakon. Victoria shook hands with them, and also a few meters away, Daniel made eye contact with them, smiled and greeted them with a wave of his hand.
Mikaela tells that she was absolutely thunderstruck by this meeting. Her knees felt weak and she doesn’t remember what she said. She remembers getting confused in her words and having addressed Victoria with "du" instead of the Crown Princess or Your Royal Highness.
Mikaela's impression of Victoria was very positive. The essence was radiantly friendly, yet there was such a royal sense of elegance around it. Victoria clearly appreciates her audience, because she just mentioned that they are late, but then still stopped.
Mikaela returned to see the royals when they went to R/V Skagerak. There wasn't a big crowd, but many passers-by stayed to watch. There were a few actual royal watchers and about 60 people when the royals arrived. During the visit the royals stopped on the deck to comment on the media and photos were taken. They were partially visible on deck, and many people waited for them to leave. There were retirees and middle-aged people, young adults, some with and without children, teenage girls and boys. There were police and royal security guards, but no fences. As the royals left, the police asked to back a little, that's all. And when the royals walked towards their cars, the people followed just meters away.
Before getting in the car, Victoria turned and looked at the crowd. She saw Mikaela and greeted her with a smile, seeming to clearly remember the morning.
Mikaela was satisfied of the day. The morning encounter at the train station was a real jackpot, and in the afternoon she was able to focus on photos.
Kruununprinsessa Victoria ja kruununprinssi Haakon Göteborgissa

Mikaela Larsson writes at her blog at Seura Magazine among other things:
"The royal visit reminded me of the demanding nature of court life - which is why I would not want to be a royal"
During the day Mikaela found a new kind of respect for the work of the royals, which is not quite as easy and fun as you might think. The day in particular made her once again thank her luck for not being born royal.
Program
6:10 - Photography with the media at Stockholm railway station
6:20 - Getting on the train
9:35 - Arrival in Gothenburg and a small reception
10:20 - Business seminar at Lindholmen Science Park
11:45 - Visit to Chalmers University's Maritime Testing Laboratory
12:50 - Lunch at the governor's residence
15:00 - Visit to R/V Skagerak
15:45 - Interview session and photography with the media
16:10 - Reception at the Norwegian Consulate
17:00 - The program ends
Mikaela points out that the only longer program event and a break from being in front of the people was lunch at the governor's residence, which, however, was one job among others. Everything has to go smoothly, because the next meeting is always around the corner. Delays make problems on schedule. A royal visit is undoubtedly an exhausting occasion, even if the royals don't complain. A tour day means an endless flood of new names, faces, places and themes. The royals need to be able to make a good impact on many people at a rapid pace throughout the day.
The media is present almost all the time, so the cameras flash non-stop and all slightest gestures are noticed by the cameras.
The royals give speeches and often take part in various discussions and seminars, so they must explore the topics of the day in advance.
And, the royals should remember to pay attention to the people, where Victoria is especially commendable. Mikaela writes that she got to shake hands with Victoria and exchange a few words with her. She will probably remember that moment for the rest of her life, but for Victoria Mikaela was one greeting face in the crowd. However, it is quite an achievement that a person who meets so many people at work still manages to seem so sincerely interested and kind, Mikaela writes.
