Yes, shame about the summery photo chosen but kudos to them for choosing a photo with all the family members in. Hopefully next year they will get organised to take a picture when they all reunite for the nobel festivities to make it more in tune with the Christmas season.

I doI honestly prefer the photos taken during summer! It doesn't matter if they are supposed to be for Chrismas! I liek far better the colorful, warm image that comes with it! But that bad photoshop needs to go!

Expressen Kungligt Instagram published a collage of photos from 2016
"What a great royal year 2016 has been! What would you like to see more of on this account next year?"
https://www.instagram.com/p/BOrz-YAg...ressenkungligt

Svensk Damtidning wrote on Thursday that Madeleine and family are also at Swiss Alps with the king and queen (the article had old photos). Madeleine and family went to Geneva to celebrate New Year with friends and shortly the king and queen also arrived to the Alps. Madeleine is there to support her mother after her illness.
Also a lot of their friends are at the Alps: Caroline Kreuger Nilsson, her mother Agneta Kreuger with Lars Abrahamsson. And Christoffer Cederlund and Charlotte Cederlund (Caroline Nilsson's sister), Lovisa De Geer and Niclas Bolle, Carola Gottlieb, Fredrik Gottlieb and Louise Gottlieb have also travelled to the Alps with the royal family.

Expressen published on Thursday evening and article with photos of queen Silvia, king Carl Gustaf and Madeleine at the Alps. Chris has been seen with the children and Madeleine has been walking with her mother.
The article has also one old photo from Madeleine's hen party at the Alps in 2013.

The new year family photo is all right. I'd prefer a recent photo; it doesn't have to be Christmas-y or festive. Whoever is editing photos needs to ease up on the photoshop. The adults look plastic.

True, but with three children too young to understand "look at the camera! smile!" they could very well have made some other attempts at a group photo but not gotten a workable one since July. Kids are difficult that way!

Stockholm's Mayor is taking on Climate Change
Royal Allies
Mayor Karin Wanngård, who became interested in climate policy after reading statements by former U.S. Vice President Al Gore and economist Jeffrey Sachs, among others, began pushing for climate action in Stockholm as a city councilor. Now, “I can do even more”, she said.
She has had help from some unusual allies, including Sweden’s royal family. At the Nobel Prize giving ceremony in Stockholm last December, both Queen Silvia and Crown Princess Victoria pointedly wore dresses made of recycled material.
“When it comes to people like that, who have the possibility to buy really, really expensive dresses and they go for recycled fabric, that starts a trend and everyone wants to do the same,” Wanngård said.

King Carl Gustaf, queen Silvia and Carl Philip attended at the funeral of count Carl Adam "Noppe" Lewenhaupt at the Hedvig Eleonora Church. Noppe was one king Carl Gustaf's closest friends, already from childhood. According to Svensk Damtidning, over 700 people attended at the funeral.

According to Svensk Damtidning, Noppe had wanted that Europe's "The Final Countdown" would be played at his funeral, and it was. Noppe's friend Carola Häggkvist performed an acoustic version of the song. And when she sang, queen Silvia cried, tells Svensk Damtidning's reporter.

According to Expressen, Carl Philip was a regular guest at Noppe's club. Expressen has told that it was planned that also Sofia would attend but she didn't.
- The couples don't always do things together. But in this case Prince Carl Philip had the opportunity to attend the funeral, and is here together with the king and queen, says Margareta Thorgren, director of the press department.

Noppes begravning ankomst till kyrkan

After the service, priest Hans Rhodin explained to the media that he had had many talks with Noppe's family and people closest to him and they decided to talk about "Noppe's" death in the speech. The family wanted to tell it now so that there should be no speculation.
- "Noppe" chose to leave us and mortality. He chose to do it when he thought it was the best time, when everything was as usual, the priest said initially during the service.
- You, who were very close to "Noppe" were concerned that this could happen. Lee, you saw "Noppe" look himself in the mirror and he did not like what he saw. Maybe he was afraid of getting old. Afraid to be a load. Maybe it was the chemical imbalance. We do not know why he chose it. But our faith, that we have talked about, Lee and I, it's that God is close to us all the time. And especially when we have what is most difficult. Then God is there. And now, "Noppe" is united with his parents and siblings who have preceded him into eternity, said Hans Rhodin.

I wonder if the late Carl Adam Lewenhaupt was related to Count (?) Adam Ludwig Lewenhaupt, who died in Moscow in 1719.

I work in Hedvig Eleonora Church and was on duty during Count Carl Adam's funeral service. Around 700 people inside the Church. A very emotional and touching but also glad and uplifting service. The sermon was very emotional and touching but also funny with many anecdotes from his life. Also very serious as the priest told in the beginning of the sermon at the request of the family to stop any further speculations that "Noppe" choosed to end his life and that no one knows why he did it.

Swedish artists Carola Häggkvist, Emilia De Poret and Fredrik Benedict Nybladh sang during the service. Former ABBA guitarist Janne Schaffer played guitar.

John Chrispinsson, swedish journalist, program leader and TV-profile at SVT, died suddenly yesterday evening at the age of 60. Among other things he was the commentator the weddings of Victoria and Daniel, Madeleine and Chris and Carl Philip and Sofia, princess Lilian's funeral and the royal christenings. Royal expert Roger Lundgren who was the other commentator at the royal events, tells that Chrispinsson concentrated more to tell about history at the royal events and Lundgren about the royals today. Chrispinsson loved history.

Expressen has an article about some of the favourite places of the royal family when they are private, tips where people can see them.
Milles and Strandvägen 1
To see: Sofia, Madeleine
Just over a week ago we saw Princess Sofia meet a friend here - and when Princess Madeleine is in Sweden, she goes almost always here.
Ciao Ciao Grande
To see: Victoria, Daniel, Carl Philip, Sofia, Madeleine, Chris
In spare moments, the royal family like to come to "Ciao Ciao Grande" to have a pizza. Victoria, Madeleine and Carl Philip began to go there as a child - and now they pass it on to their own children. Sometimes Victoria and Estelle are here together and then it will be a Bambino- or Margherita pizza.
Haga Park
To see: Victoria, Daniel
Haga Palace is located in Haga Park in Solna, just outside Stockholm. Many people who walk in the park go past the Palace and try to see the crown princess family. What many forget is to look at the park. There you can in fact most likely meet Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel. They take often long walks in the park.
Café Saturnus
To see: Carl Philip, Sofia, Madeleine
Something of a favorite café among the royals. Carl Philip and Sofia have coffee often with friends here as well as Madeleine when she is in Sweden.
Stenhammar Castle
To see: The King, the Queen
Stenhammar Castle is something of a weekend haven for the royal family. But most often it is the royal couple who come here. They usually walk on the estate, and for the curious, there are good opportunities to meet - or at least get a sight of - King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia.
Crème Stockholm
To see: Madeleine, Chris
Madeleine's fave place! Here she and her husband Chris have lunch when they are in Stockholm. A few steps away is also café Mocco which is another favourite place for Madeleine.

The royal court has published it's Annual Report 2016 on their website. The Report tells that the king and queen had a total of about 6,000 guests at the events including on outgoing state visits. The crown princess couple also conducted official representation at Haga Palace with 130 invited guests during the year.
