Reception of the Kings from Spain to the Diplomatic
the Kings and Prince de Asturias celebrated the traditional reception to the credited diplomatic in Spain, in the occasion of the New Year, in the Real Palace. Don Juan Carlos has announced before all the presents the creation of the House of Africa, to harness our political, economic projection and of solidarity towards that continent.

Indeed! Queen Sofia looks happy, radiant and elegant... however I don't like the pearl necklace with this kind of dress... I would have used only the magnificent earrings, the brooch and postpone the use of the necklace ...
Regards,
mtbcm :)

Specially flattering and moving for the King were the words proffered by the dean of the Vatican Nuncio in Spain, Manuel Monteiro, who congratulated Their Majesties for a 2005 loaded of good news for the Royal Family, among them the birth of Infanta Leonor, the first-born of the Princes of Asturias, who "extends and guarantees the dynastic continuity".
Monteiro also evoked the thirtieth anniversary of the King’s enthronement (which was also celebrated in 2005), by expressing his admiration towards Don Juan Carlos, for being able to reign with moderation, during that delicate period, "in a dynamic, plural and complex society, from the social and territorial point of view". The Nuncio remembered that those three decades constitute the longest period of "peace, prosperity and democracy” experienced in the history of Spain.

The King has remembered east Thursday, before the credited Diplomatic Body in Spain, the bet of our country by a "effective multilateral diplomacy" and has said that to United Nations he corresponds to play "an irreplaceable" role for the set of the international community.
Of there, he has insisted, the Spanish commitment with the reform of the UN, that must have the average ones "to give suitable answer to the problems of the present world". The King has affirmed that Spain maintains its effort in the actions destined to guarantee international La Paz and the security, "as well as to fight the terrorism, on the base of the respect to the international legality and the human rights".

The informal dinner after Dona Leonor's baptism
The Princes of Asturias came on Saturday night to have dinner to a central spit of the capital to celebrate privately together with the Dukes of Lugo and to those of Palm Dona Leonor's baptism. Neither to the banquet were absent any of their cousins, as Simoneta Gómez Acebo and Jose Miguel Fernandez Sastrón; Cristina de Borbón Dos Sicilias and Pedro Lopez-Quesada; and close friends like Carla Royo Vilanova and Kubrat of Bulgaria. Inside the restaurant also there were having dinner the president of the Congress, Manuel Marín, and his wife. Marín approached to greet first the Infantas and then to Don Felip and Dona Letizia, that they came later.

Not, they were not appearing in the list of guests, they were the parents of Cristina the Infante Don Carlos and Ana of France. I imagine that it was a question of space, the hall is small and many people were not entering, because of it it was the most nearby family.
Probably the dinner was because of it, or because yesterday it was Iñaki's birthday.

So happy to see that Iñaki and Cristina were all smiles in Iñaki's birthday after the bit sad faces (in my opinion) that they showed in Leonor's baptism.
Well, now I realized that maybe the baptism was a less informal act than the birthday party and that's why the looked so serious (rather than sad).
:)
Thanks, lula, for posting the pics. Once again, you made my day!
