http://actualidad.terra.es/nacional/articulo/rey_kirchner_espana_argentina_940830.htm

During his toast, Don Juan Carlos emphasized that thanks to the leadership of president Kirchner and 'to the effort shared of all the Argentines', it can be said today 'with admiration and pride, that Argentina' has managed to surpass, in just very a few years, the serious crisis 'lived at the beginning of the decade'. The Spaniards – stressed the monarch – have always been, and will always be, with Argentina, at the good and at the most difficult moments, cheering up its own successes and sharing its problems and hopes. Nothing of what happens in Argentina is unrelated to us.

Néstor Kirchner, on the other hand, started his toast, emphasizing the 'quality and kindness' of the Spanish feelings towards his country, and congratulated the Princes of Asturias for the birth of their daughter, Infanta Leonor, last October.

Will there be a gala event for this?

Not there is no dinner of gala, is an official visit, not a visit of State, the dinners of gala are only for the visits of State.;)

But surely they are staying more than one day, or not? I cannot imagine the president and his wife having flown over all the way from Argentina, just to have lunch!

P.S. thanks for the pictures everyone !!!

The same anecdote has repeated several times, normally on having greeted the King is the first one and Latizia the last one, as soon as they have just greeted, has to pass ahead from all, to place next to the King and that the photo remains balanced.;)

I hope President Gloria will bring her daughter Luli to the luncheon. She went to Georgetown with Felipe. I know the presidential family is in Spain right now because they're mixing business and vacation.

No gala dinner for President Gloria ?

no, just a luncheon. i don't think it's a state visit anyway so it's not going to require a state dinner.

she is with the president, so most probably she will be there as they form part of the official delegation anyway. :D

The king is very serious...I hope is not because he is near Letizia...I hear it some days ago in a tv program and I was very sad.

I do not believe it:rolleyes:

The King normally turns out to be serious in the photos, cannot pose for the cameras. Besides being how the politics is in Spain ... much has of what to worry, I do not believe that yesterday it was a calm day precisely.
