This is always THE SAME! The queen doesn't know the rules of protocol: she has to be after the king not before him. Is the same after decades!!!

I think the order changed through the evening. In many of the pictures where the family is greeting guests the order seems to be the King, the Queen, Felipe, Letizia, Elena, Jaime then Cristina and Inaki. But most of the pictures show the Queen sandwiched between the King and Felipe -- so clearly the King was at the beginning of the reception line and not the Queen.
In some of the more "social" images the Queen is pictured talking to Cristina and Inaki.

I think women always walk and stand at the righthand side of men, in this picture the son in laws figure as bookends so that the women are not "alone".
can't imagine sofia not knowing protocol......

In almost every photo i've ever seen the King always let's the Queen enter a room before him. He's obviously a gentleman who let's women (and especially his wife) go first.

King's cousin dead in traffic accident
The hole royal family attended yesterday the funeral of king's cousin.

How sad!
Unfortunately, traffic accidents are still the main cause of dead in the Iberian Peninsula...

From ABC:

Felipe was particularly affected, as he was friend of the deceased, and could not disguise his sadness, when he embraced one of the brothers.

Olympic Evaluation
Madrid's evaluation is coming up this week. The IOC commitee for the 2012 Olympics will be in Madrid from Feb. 3-6. Anyone know if the Royal Family will be doing anything dealing with this? I guess Inaki will because I think he is part of Madrid's commitee.

I don't see the problem, if Juan Carlos is okay with her entering a room before him, then what are we talking about?

King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia offered a dinner to the members of the International Olympic Committee's (IOC) Evaluation Commission, at RoyalPalace, as you can see in the information posted by Pdas, at
