why exactly does Felipe go to 'capture of possessions?' is it just a matter of good will?
 
He goes there in order to represent Spain and stengthen the bonds with Latin American countries.

Prince Felipe gets together with representatives Nicaraguan society

Managua, 10 ene (ACAN-EFE) .-The prince of Asturias, inheritor of the Spanish Wreath, took advantage of his assistance to the transmission of presidential control in Nicaragua to have breakfast today with a group of representatives of diverse areas of the society of this country.

The breakfast was celebrated in the residence of the ambassador of Spain in Nicaragua, Jaime Lacadena Higuera, by the assistance of a dozen of representatives of the culture, the empresariado, the politics and the Nicaraguan mass media.

It seems they were all wearing a type of shirt like the guayaberas, and Felipe was not. Maybe they did not have his size. I bet he felt a little out of place...

Prince of Asturias will preside at funeral in Quito for two dead Ecuadorians

The Prince of Asturias will preside on Sunday in Quito at a funeral mass for both Ecuadoran dead workers in the attempt of last December 30 in the T-4 of the airport of Madrid of Barajas.

The funeral informed by the archbishop of Quito, Raúl Vela, will be celebrated to the midday in the Church of Our Lady of Guápulo, with the representatives' assistance of the Ecuadoran Government, reported a speaker of the House of the King.

guayaberas can be considered as appropiate as a suit in central america. Specially in the hot days, a suit would be unbearable.

The prince is not the only one wearin a tie, some other people behind him are wearin them too. I suppose it was not that hot for him to still be comfortable in a suit

The prince Felipe de Borbón, who today comes to Quito to be present at the investiture of the new president of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, will preside this Sunday at a mass for both Ecuadorians died in ETA's attempt in Barajas last month.

The inheritor of the Spanish Wreath will come to the Ecuadoran capital in the first hour of the morning and, to the midday, Raúl Vela will be present at the mass celebrated by the archbishop of Quito, in the church of Our Lady of Guápulo, in memory of Carlos Alonso Palate and Diego Armando Estacio.

The Prince of Asturias, on having visited the country of origin of the victims of ETA's attempt of last December 30 in the airport of Madrid of Barajas, requested that this mass was celebrating in their memory, to stress the solidarity and support of the Royal House and the Spanish people to their families, reported a speaker of the Prince.

To the mass it is foreseen that come diverse Ecuadoran authorities and also there are waited some relatives of Palate and Estacio, whose corpses were late several days in being recovered of the rubbles to which there remained limited a module of the parking of the terminus T-4 of Cards after the attempt with a van bomb placed by the terrorist band ETA.

Before the mass, Felipe de Borbón will be got by the salient president of Ecuador, Alfredo Palacio, and also he will meet on Sunday evening the new president of the country, Rafael Correa, to whom he will transmit the regards of his father, the King Juan Carlos I of Spain.

After the mass, the Prince will share on Sunday a luncheon deprived with a group of Ecuadoran personalities of diverse fields and, in the night, will receive to a representation of the Spanish community in Ecuador.

On Monday, the inheritor of the Spanish Wreath will come to the Legislative Palace of Quito to the ceremony of transfer of the power, in which Correa will swear the president's cargo and will receive, of hands of his predecessor, Palacio, the band that symbolizes the Headquarters of the Ecuadoran State.

Later, he will be present at an official luncheon offered by the new president of Ecuador the dignitary attendees at his investiture, before returning to Spain.

This one is the fortieth fourth occasion from 1996 in which the Prince of Asturias comes in name of his father, the King Juan Carlos, to the capture of possession of a Latin-American leader.

Prince Felipe comes to Ecuador for investiture of Correa as president

The Prince of Asturias, Felipe de Borbón, came today to Quito to be present at the investiture of the leftist Rafael Correa as president of Ecuador.

The plane Airbus of the Air Spanish Force in which there came the Prince Felipe landed in the Air Base of the I Zona of the Ecuadoran capital to 07.30 local time (12.30 GMT).

The Ecuadoran minister of Exterior Relations, Francisco Carrión, received the Prince at the foot of the steps of the plane and together they listened from a podium to the national anthems of Spain and Ecuador.

The Prince of Asturias came accompanied by the secretary of State for Latin America, Trinidad Jiménez, and Anunciada Fernandez Córdoba, chief operating officer of multilateral Latin-American organisations.

After receiving chief's honors of State in the airport of Quito, the Prince Felipe inspected to a battalion of honors of the Military High school.

Don Felipe will meet today the Ecuadoran salient president, Alfredo Palacio, in sedate of the Executive, in the historical center of Quito, and to the midday will be present at a mass in recollection of both Ecuadorians died in Madrid last December 30 in the attempt of the terrorist band ETA.

The mass in memory of the Ecuadorians Carlos Palate and Diego Estacio will be celebrated in the church of Our Lady of Guápulo.

Besides the minister of Exteriors Ecuadorian, Francisco Carrión, and other members of the government of Palacio .

The Prince of Asturias, Felipe de Borbón, transmitted today the letter of congratulation of the King and of the Spanish people to the elect president of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, in an interview that supposed the first institutional contact with the new Ecuadoran administration.

The inheritor of the Spanish Wreath delivered to Correa a letter of his father, the King Juan Carlos of Spain, in which he demonstrates his letter of congratulation and that of the Spanish people for his election and shows him his better desires for the development of his labor, informed a speaker of the Prince.

Mass for the victims of ETA

The inheritor to the Spanish throne took part in a mass in memory of both Ecuadorians (died in a terrorist attempt happened in Madrid and expressed his condolences to the relatives.

Felipe de Borbón y Grecia, the inheritor of the Spanish wreath, altered the Sunday mass of the midday in Guápulo's church (north center of Quito). He represented to produce honoring in memory of Diego Estacio and Carlos Palate, both deceased Ecuadorians last December 30 in the explosion of a van - bomb in the airport of Barajas, of Madrid, attributed to the terrorist Basque group ETA.

The Prince, who came to represent at the rate of presidential control, expressed personally his condolences to the kinsmen.

The used Sunday mass of the midday in Guápulo's church (north center of Quito) turned into an event for the presence of the prince of Asturias, Felipe de Borbón y Grecia.

The mass offered in memory of Diego Estacio and Carlos Alonso Palate, both deceased Ecuadorians last December 30 in the explosion of a van - bomb in the airport of Barajas, of Madrid, attributed to the terrorist Basque group ETA.

The religious office was a special order of the Royal Spanish House, since it was the opportunity in order that the Prince, who came for the change of presidential control, was expressing personally his condolences to the families of the victims of the terrorism.

And this way he did it, after coming to Guápulo (parish of the center of Quito) in the middle of an operative complex of safety. Without major formalities, the Prince greeted first the kinsmen, dedicating special attention to the mothers of the deceaseds.

He proved to be visibly affected by the pain of Maria Basilia Sailema, the mother of Palate, who went out of dawn of her village, Picaihua, in Tungurahua's province, to come in time to the appointment with the Prince.

After receiving the condolences, Jacqueline Sivisipa, mother of Estacio, said that " his words seemed to us to be very nice ", while his father, Wilson, made clear that he counts on receiving an indemnification compromised by the Spanish government.

During the mass, the future King of Spain was looking insistently and with consternation to the relatives of the victims.

In the moment of the peace, the Prince permitted to break for instants the protocol and received kisses and children's embraces that approached him in a spontaneous way for the greeting of the peace. The safety personnel blocked the way of young women who, in the middle of the mass, wanted to think a photography with the Prince or to ask for an autograph.

The ceremony was informed by the archbishop of Quito, monsignor Raúl Vela, who during the sermon emphasized the efforts of the Ecuadorians who emigrate towards Spain, and asked in order that the terrorism finishes.

In declarations to the press, Felipe de Borbón assured that those who committed the attempt will have to produce accounts to the justice.

He expressed his " deep sorrow" to Ecuador. " They (the deceased migrantes) will remain in our memory. They travelled looking for a new life and there they contributed to the well-being and development of Spain ", he assured.

On the part of the salient Government there was present in the homily the chancellor of the Ecuador, Francisco Carrión. Also there represented the minister of Exterior Relations inlet, Maria Fernanda Espinosa, who did not support a formal dialogue with the Prince.

Later, Felipe de Borbón was present at a luncheon with Ecuadoran personalities; and during the night it had foreseen to meet the Spanish resident community in the capital.

Before, the Prince supported a short meeting with the salient agent chief executive Alfredo Palacio, to whom he delivered a letter of his father the King Juan Carlos I. Across this missive, Palace got a letter of congratulation for the successful culmination of his mandate, as well as the desires of the Spanish royalty of a successful future.

The inheritor of the Spanish Wreath was present hours before his item in the Legislative Palace of Quito at the capture of possession of Correa, which, in his speech after president being undressed, he was grateful to the Prince for the treatment given by Spain to the families of both Ecuadorians murdered ' for the criminals of ETA ' in the attempt of last December 30 in the airport of Madrid of Barajas.

' I want to present my deeper gratefulness to the brother Spanish people, to his Royal Highness, the Prince of Asturias; to the Spanish prime minister, gentleman (Jose Luis) Rodríguez Zapatero ', indicated Correa , in reference to the treatment given by the Spanish Government to the families of Carlos Palate and Diego Estacio.

Before going out today towards Spain, the prince Felipe was present at a food offered by the new Ecuadoran president to the dignitary attendees to his capture of possession, from which move to the Air Base to take the plane.
