Is it just me or does CP Letizia reminds you alot of Queen Rania?

Just you;)....

While Rania is pretty, Letizia is naturally beautiful. See Rania's old and current pics and you will see the effects of plastic surgeries.

I don't agree. I think she wears too much blush and her lipliner looks too strong in comparison with the rest of the lips. You are not supposed to see the lipliner. http://cache.gettyimages.com/comp/52489902.jpg?x=x&dasite=MS_GINS&ef=2&ev=1&dareq=E2399169AC85D6DE9A21091711E5AD1EB82167FD8003EA377757C85AE85A779B
It also looks like she has missed her lip contour when she applied the lipliner.

Other than that I think she looks good. It's no easy to look good on such closeups...

TRH the Princes of Asturias have presided over the ceremony of the Prizes Bartolomé de las Casas 2004; a ceremony celebrated in the House of America. This fourteenth edition of the awards was given ex-aequo to the association Aporte para la Descentralización Cultural (ADESCA), from Guatemala, and to Luis Manuel Ticio Escobar, director of the Indigenous Art Museum of Paraguay. Don Felipe, in his speech, remembered that this award tries to call attention over the problems of those communities which are trying to maintain alive the conscience on their own identity, as well as their traditions, rites and legends, including the ecological balance of their environmental surroundings. He also emphasized the merits of the awarded institutions, concluding that their work constitutes a valuable contribution to the coexistence, social cohesion and communion of that great project which the Comunidad Iberoamericana de Naciones represents.

Leti's Grandfather Dies...

According to hola.com her paternal grandfather has died. I don't belong to Hola so I couldn't read the whole article. Her paternal grandfather is the one her and Felipe often visit in Asturias.

article about her grandfather's death from elmundo.es

Translation:

Jose Luis Ortiz Velasco, of 82 years old, paternal grandfather of the Princess of Asturias, has died from a pulmonary ailment he was suffering for years, according to a confirmation of the Royal House.

Familiar sources have confirmed that the death took place this morning, at his house of Sardéu, in the Asturian municipality of Ribadesella, where he resided next to his wife, Menchu Alvarez del Valle.

The Princes of Asturias have visited the paternal grandparents of Letizia Ortiz for numerous occasions. They have escaped to their house of Sardéu for many weekends and vacations. The last time they were seen in the village was on the weekend after the anniversary of 11-M.

Letizia and her husband will tomorrow attend the funerals, which will be celebrated in memory of their grandfather, in a place still to determine. The religious official is expected to be celebrated at the parochial church of the locality of El Carmen, very next to Sardéu.

José Luis Ortiz, to whom Doña Letizia felt very united, suffered of a serious pulmonary disease, which was diagnosed about three years ago, and of what he was being treated in the National Institute of Silicosis in Oviedo, where he passed some periods.

However, this ailment did not impede him to attend the wedding of his granddaughter to the Prince of Asturias, celebrated on the 22nd of May 2004, in the cathedral of La Almudena, in Madrid. The deceased and Menchu Alvarez del Valle were parents of Jesus Ortiz Alvarez, father of the Princess of Asturias, who like her mother and daughter (until the wedding to the Prince), has professionally dedicated himself to the media.

Thanks for translating Elsa. It is nice that she saw him just a few weeks ago. When my grandmother died 4 years ago I was comforted by the fact that I had just saw her a few days before.

The paternal grandfather of Doña Letizia, Jose Luis Ortiz Velasco, passed away today, at his 82 years old, victim of a pulmonary ailment he was suffering for years. Married to the Asturian speaker of National Radio Menchu Alvarez del Valle for 56 years, he had recently received the last visit of the Princes of Asturias, when they travelled to the Asturian village of Sardéu, to accompany his state of health.

On that occasion (the weekend after the anniversary of 11-M), the Princes of Asturias met Erika, the yougest sister of the Princess, Antonio Vigo, her husband, and Carla, their daughter. They were all worried about the ailment of Jose Luis Ortiz.

The death took place this morning, at the house of the small locality in the municipality of Ribadesella.

Doña Letizia and her husband will attend tomorrow the funerals, which will be celebrated in memory of her grandfather, for whom she felt a true adoration, since she spent the summers of her childhood in his home.

Before marriage, the Princes of Asturias visited the paternal grandparents of Doña Letizia for a couple of times. In later occasions, the couple slept in "the arquera", the familiar house in Sardéu.

The last time that Jose Luis Ortiz went to a public act with his granddaughter was in the past month of October, in Oviedo, for the presentation of the Prizes Prince of Asturias.

The grandparents of Doña Letizia had to adapt themselves to the curiosity of neighbours and paparazzis, who roamed to the village, on each visit of the Princes. That expectancy forced them to install a discreet wood fence to protect their property. "Never a wall, it’s enough a small fence", said José Luis Ortiz, who, until his retirement, worked as a commercial employee of the typewriters company Olivetti, where he used to teach small courses to take advantage of the equipment.

The widow, Menchu Alvarez del Valle, is a retired journalist, who worked for Oviedo Radio and National Radio of Spain (RNE), between 1947 and 1990. She was the one responsible for Doña Letizia’s passion for the media, and also who made the emotive reading of the Letter of Saint Paul to the Corints, during the wedding celebrated on the 22nd May of 2004, in the cathedral of La Almudena.

He was treated at National Institute of Silicosis in Oviedo. Silicosis is a ailment suffered by miners. I think I read some time ago that Letizia´s Grandfather worked as a miner.

The paternal grandfather of the Princess of Asturias, Jose Luis Ortiz Velasco, passed away yesterday at dawn, in his house of Sardeu (Ribadesella), where he lived with his wife, Menchu Alvarez del Valle (one of the most well-known voices of the Asturian radio), since he was retired as a commercial representative of a well-known house of typewriters. Ortiz was 82 years old and suffered, for several years, of a serious pulmonary ailment that gave a end to his life. He was a very dear person in the town and their neighbours describe him as "a close person".

Since her childhood, Doña Letizia has maintained a very narrow relation with her paternal grandparents, those who she has also visited in numerous occasions accompanied by the Prince of Asturias. The first time was shortly after the official announcement of the commitment, and then Doña Letizia had the opportunity to present her grandparents to her fiancé. The last time was hardly seventeen days ago, when Don Felipe and Doña Letizia spent a weekend in Sardeu. On that occasion, it was the last time when Doña Letizia could see her grandfather alive.

This afternoon, the Princes of Asturias will travel to Sardeu, to give their good bye to Jose Luis Ortiz, and to accompany Menchu Alvarez del Valle, on these hard moments. At six o’clock in the afternoon, Don Felipe and Doña Letizia will attend the funerals, which will be celebrated by the archbishop of Oviedo, Carlos Osoro, and the local parish priest, José María Ordiz, at the parochial church of the Carmen, next to Sardeu. It’s a small temple, where the grandparents of Doña Letizia used to attend mass, accompanied in some occasions by the Princes, and which, for space problems, will limit the access to relatives, authorities and friends.

Yesterday, the children of Menchu Alvarez del Valle arrived at the familiar house: Henar and Jesus Ortiz, father of Doña Letizia, who arrived with his wife, Ana Togores. Who, apparently, will not be able to say goodbye to her grandfather is Telma, the sister of the Princess, who is in Indonesia with the Red Cross, helping the victims of the tsunami and earthquake.

(by the way, i didn't know he was there that day. the principe de asturias prize is supposed to invite people involved in the different areas the prize focuses... was her grandfather invited because he had any relationship with the prize or just because it was her grandfather?)

Letizia's grandparents are from Oviedo, so I guess they were invited to the Prizes (which took place in Oviedo, Asturias), as relatives of the Princess.

The Princes of Asturias will not attend the wedding of Charles and Camila, because Felipe has already a previous commitment: the investiture of his intimate friend , the Chilean president Ricardo Lagos, in Salamanca, as doctor honoris causa. According to sources of the Royal House no other member of the Spanish Royal Family will attend the ceremony. The reason is that the invitation to the wedding is "personally" directed to Princes of Asturias.

Far or close, that's a relative question... Ribadesella belongs to Asturias, whose capital is Oviedo (Letizia and Telma were born there and late Jesus Ortiz was receiving treatments there as well, since it is the closest centre to their village), so I see no problem at all in two citizens of Asturias attending the main ceremony of the Principality... and next to their Princess (and granddaughter) ;)
