Please clarify something for an American who doesn't follow soccer too closely: Is this the European championship? Where is this game played? I think someone mentioned Holland (I thought it's called Netherland now). Is this Spanish team from Seville? Thanks.

BTW, the ruffled blouse Letizia is wearing is very much en vogue right now. The retro style along with the tie-at-the-neck make a comeback not just in Spain but all over the world. I think Letizia looks great in it. She's really glowing.

I think Letizia looked really good with the shirt on ( I prefer the shirt out, but it looks ok with it being tucked in I guess). But why, why on earth would you decide to put that coat on top of such a lovely outfit?!? She has so many beautiful coats that could go with this outfit, but out of all the coats she has, she picked one of the ugliest (sorry coat!) coats of all!

The UEFA Cup is one of the European Championships, there are many of them and the team has to be in some position in their home country to go to one of this competitions, the final is always played in a pre-established stadium, that's why even if the final was between a spanish and an english team it took place in the Netherlands; the biggest one is the UEFA Champions League whose final would take place next 17th of May between Arsenal of England and Barcelona of Spain in Paris, this team would go to the Club World Cup which takes place every year in Tokyo between the best teams of each continent (America= Copa Libertadores, Europe= UEFA Champions League and so on with Africa, Asia and Australia).

Yes, the team is from Sevilla, Spain and if you want more info about this kind of competitions go to: http://www.uefa.com/index.html

Hope this helps and I accept it: I'm a female soccer junkie!:D:D:D

Letizia is a very handsome woman but I think she should to get fat a little without forgetting she is of complexion thin and to cut her hair because she already takes too much long it.She would be much more beautiful.

Yes I have already post a message before telling that I think she really should cut her hair and give a more fashion and modern style to her hair!!!

A video, from Telecinco:

From Hola:
http://www.hola.com/abonados/casasreales/2006/05/11/principes-copauefa/?auth=yes

The king of all sports congregates crowds as well as royals. The Princes of Asturias travelled yesterday to Eindhoven, to enjoy the UEFA Cup finals, which were disputed by Seville and Middlesbrough and they were turned into the talisman of the Seville: the Spanish team was proclaimed champion, after defeating the English players by 4-0.

Don Felipe and Doña Letizia watched the match from the box of the Philips Stadion, along with the other authorities, such as the president of the Seville, Jose Maria del Nido, and the former UEFA president, the Swedish Lennart Johannson, among other personalities. Like any other fans, they lived the game with enthusiasm and cheerfully encouraged the Sevillistas, celebrating goal after goal.

The Princes: the player number 12
The Princes even lowered to the arena, at the end of the game, to congratulate the players, for this important triumph and to take a photograph along with the team and with the trophy. The cup was passed from hand to hand and, in the end, the Prince, contaminated by the explosion of the sevillista joy, raised the cup, before the big applause of his wife.

Moments later, Don Felipe and Doña Letizia expressed how enchanted they were for being witnesses of this historical victory of the Andalusian team: "It is a great joy for us all. We are very happy to be here with them", said the Prince to Spanish Television. "They let us appear in the photo with them and for us it is a real privilege", added Don Felipe, while the Princess declared to be "contented for having a Spanish team as champion".

TRH the Princes of Asturias gave today one hundred scholarships of postdegree studies sponsored by the Foundation Caja Madrid; an initiative that had its seventh edition this year.
The Prince said that preparing the young people 'to win the battle of competitiveness', stimulating the capacity of innovation and the use of new technologies is 'the best way to suitably approach the future of Spain'.

Terrible jacket, why cant she get a designer that makes flattering clothes for her and not theese awful shoulderpads:eek:

A photoseries from the soccer game, TV2 I think most of the pics are posted but they are without watermark
http://galleri.tv2.dk/index.php/category-Nyhederne/id-4112750/page-1.html

The jacket is nice and has a beautiful fabric.
The topic of the shoulderpads, I believe that it has relation with which Letizia besides thin, has a tiny skeleton. It seems that there is an intention of which it looks like that she enlarges more, first because she will be tired of that one speaks about her body, and second because next to the prince the difference is abysmal and one does not see her :p . Also it can be that like that the jackets remain better on the body and does not have to worry so much when it is of a side for other one. The suits of the Queen also they are in the habit of having them.

I think she had her hair cut. Maybe not too much, just an inch or two.

That it contents was Letizia in Eindhoven yesterday, its smile was precious and today in the delivery of scholarships she was very handsome with its suit trousers. That taste to see both so contentments and with an enviable complicity.:p :p :p :p :p :p

Those pics of the soccer final are great! Thank you all so much for posting them. :) It's good to see that they are such true supporters! :D

Really it was entertained and slightly usually to see the Princes in the yesterday game. Letizia was nervous and thrilled as one more fan, and to see the Prince going down to the field and raising the cup it is slightly usual. The football is the most important sport of Spain, and it is good that the Princes support it in such a nearby way. This type of things help that the people see otherwise, in other situations. Yesterday 7 millions of Spanish saw this game.

I can't get over how great she looks for just having a baby. I wish I coul do of looked that thin and good after the birth of my child. She really is Beautiful.

Well We`ll have to disagree on the jacket, I think it gives her strange shape, and the material looks nothing special, she wore a simlar suit to the Fallas (getty) last year in a beautiful brocade fabric and beautiful fit. Maybe if she did not stand next to Felipe all the time she would not need shouldepads to be seen:rolleyes: I wish there were something else to comment on but since she does not give speeches, does not attend any events alone or hardly speakes its not much to comment on. I liked her from the first day but there is a limit to how long I can see an former independant woman beeing converted to an attention drawer for her husband, its been 2 years now.

I guess i'm the only one who happens to like her white jacket and overall outfit!

Larzen.... i don´t understand what happens to the jacket of Letizia,in particulary the shoulderpads.I think if the jacket didn´t have that shoulderpads,Letizia would seems rickety,so this type of jackets are perfect for a thin woman like Letizia.

is the belt that letizia used in the game from chanel?

I don't know but it's very nice and classy! I want the same !

I agree with Adelaide - I think Letizia looks very classy in this outfit. My own opinion is that the shiny material she wears for suits, paired with the V-neck shirts, is a look that accents how skinny she is and it should be a by-gone look. I don't like it at all. I agree she tries to look professional but the outfit today is one way to still look professional without that shiny suit look. Now all that said -- the work she and Felipe do is what I am most interested in and there is no doubt they are very hard workers for the Spanish nation.
