Elíseo confirms the visit of State of the kings of Spain the kings of Spain, Don Juan Carlos and Doña Sofía, will carry out a visit from State to France between next days 27 and 29, according to announced the Elíseo today.

According to it has extended, the program of the visit of the kings includes a supper of State in the palace of the Elíseo offered by president, Jacques Chirac, the 27 of March, whereas on the following day prevén encounter with the leaders of the camera of the deputies and the Senate, as well as an act in the City council of Paris. In the last day of their stay in France, the kings will move to Toulouse, where he anticipates himself that, besides to meet with representatives of the Spanish community, they visit the facilities of aeronautical constructor European Airbus.

it's always lovely to see juan carlos with the ambassadors. he always looks so happy that all these ladies and gentlemen come to spain and i think it's a nice gesture from the royal house to greet them, i think juan carlos is one of the few monarchs who does it... thanks fanletizia for the photos and for keeping us updated.

The King emphasized ' the personal contribution today and literariá to the letters in Spanish language of the writer Francisco Ayala, whose life and builds ' traslucen the commitment of an intellectual who has assumed like own the time that has touched to him in suerté. ' Their analysis of the reality, rigorous, rational, incisive and frees, far from leading us to the pesimism has allowed us to glimpse the hope, that is the most realistic form possible to incarnate ours sueños', the King said when offering by the century of life of the writer, ' authentic craftsman of will palabrá it, in the have supper-tribute that took place in the National Library tonight.

The supper, presided over by the Kings, they attended the vice-president of the Government, Maria Teresa Fernandez of the Fertile valley; the minister of Culture, Bald Carmen; the members of the Commission of the Centenary of Ayala and relatives and friends of the writer, who at any moment was accompanied by his wife, the Spanish scholar Carolyn Richmond, who went with an elegant black dress.

I see this event by Spanish International television (TVE) , since I'm from Argentina. The King was wonderful speaking with Ayala, and even if I do not share Ayala's political ideas, I admire him...He has 100 years old and he speaks as he was only 20! Hope we must reach that old age with our brain and body as fresh as he has!

The Queen presided at the concert of closing of the ' Baroque Cycle '

The Queen presided this evening in the National Audience of Madrid at the concert of closing of the ' Baroque Cycle ', in which were interpreted works of Boccherini and Vivaldi.
The Orchestra of Chamber Reigns Sofia it interpreted the scores, directed by Nicolás Chumachenko, with Mischa Maisky and Damián Martínez Marco as soloists.
The Queen came to the concert accompanied of her sister the princess Irene of Greece, the minister of Culture, Carmen Calvo, and the wife of Simeón of Bulgaria, Margarita Gómez-Acebo.

The queen dona Sofía, together with the minister of Culture, Carmen Calvo, and the president of the Foundation of the Orchestra of Chamber Queen Sofia, Jaime Carvajal y Urquijo, she presided at the concert of closing of the ' Baroque Cycle ' in the National Audience of Madrid, in which were interpreted works of Boccherini and Vivaldi.

His Majesty the King presided over the act of closing of the commemorative acts of the Centenary of the Institute of the Engineering of Spain

Don Juan Carlos pronounced a speech, in which he emphasized the contribution of the engineers to the technological development of Spain, remembering "his multiple accomplishments, as much in the national scope as in the international: from the construction of gigantic floating docks, to the development of special materials of enormous resistance; from great aeroportuarias works to the reforestation of extensive zones; from works to great marine depths, to the construction of ships with the most modern technologies ".

I agree!! They look... "dark"! :p
I hope so. I don't want to see our beautiful royal ladies without light colors!!
 
Yes, and Princess Irene also looked quite good... better than usual.
As for dark colours, we have already spring (at least in the callender) so we can hope Spanish royal ladies will wear sth brighter:)
 
The King was informed into the official notice of ETA in an act of the Institute of Engineering

King Juan Carlos was informed into the ETA official notice in which he announced a permanent cease-fire when he participated in the celebration of the Centenary of the Institute of Engineering of Spain. According to a spokesman informed into the House of the King, Don Juan Carlos received, shortly before initiating his speech, a small note with the news, not to interrupt the act, that continued with all normality.

Queen Sofia and First Lady of Peru award in Madrid to complex "Huaca of the Moon"

The First Lady of Peru Eliane Karp arrived today at the Spanish capital to tomorrow participate in the delivery of the "IV Prize the International Queen Sofía de Conservacio'n and Restauracio'n of the Cultural Patrimony" obtained by the Peruvian archaeological complex "the Huaca of the Moon", located in the department of the Freedom, to the north of Lima.

The Queen today gave in Madrid the IV Prize the International Queen Sofía de Conservation and Restauration of Cultural Patrimony 2005 to the archaeological project Huaca of the Moon, located in the Peruvian city of Trujillo and whose candidacy, that competed with other 27 projects coming from nine Latin American countries, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama, Peru and Uruguay.

It's the first time in some days, that i'm seeing Queen Sofia with lighter colors!! I was thinking that we would see our beautiful royal ladies always in black!

I agree with you J; this color looks absolutely awesome on Sofia, she looks stunning (but again, when doesn't she look great? Never;) ):D
