After a quiet start of the year Queen Sofia has almost tripled her events, it seems to be part of a strategy that she is the main working member apart from the prince during the enforced absence of the King, Letizia's agenda has rather declined in contrast.
IMO its a clear message from the King that he is not willing to give the Asturias couple the main part of the spotlight.

Her Majesty The Queen does seem to be rather busy and despite her age has clocked up an impressive amount of official duties and all done effortlessly in her own regal style.

The Queen always has more acts that princess (although last year were only 4 acts more), like the king when he is not sick have more acts than the prince.
The queen usually starts her holiday before, probably now she will start to have fewer acts, while the Princess continues her activities until the end of July.
The infanta always has approximately around 40 events a year, the first months of this year she had very few acts and has recovered this month .... but at the end of the year will continue in her numbers.
