During the first half of the year there were no state visits, for the acts of the Spanish Presidency of the European Union. There was a planned visit in late June or July to Uzbekistan, but was canceled. The King and the Queen had foreseen to visit the Shangay Expo and a State Visit to Corea in September, but as the previous trip, it was postponed because the King cannot do long trips in plane. Probably his first trip will be to Argentina in November for the Ibero-American summit.

Also, the Royal House has announced that due to the crisis will be fewer or shorter trips.

I think the fact that the Princes only did one short Official Visit this year to UAE is also down to cut costs.

Queen Sofia travelled to Kenya, Ethiopia, Cyprus and Greece.

Prince Felipe has visited Bolivia, Uruguay, Chile, Costa Rica and Colombia.

the "PEPA" was the first Spanish constitution and passed from absolute monarchy to constitutional monarchy, universal suffrage, separation of powers and national sovereignty was in town. It was called the "pepa" that was enacted on March 19, St. josé's day . In Spain the people who are named josé tell pepe (as in English robert = boby) and the constitution was called "PEPA" (female)

(José= pepe (male) Josefa =pepa (female) )
