The king Juan Carlos meets Putin in the resort of Sochi

The king Juan Carlos met today the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, in the resort of Sochi, on the banks of the Black sea, informed the official Russian agency Itar-Tass.

' I am sure that his visit will allow to speak not only about the bilateral relations, but also to exchange opinions about international problems ', said Putin to the Spanish monarch, according to Itar-Tass.
The chief of the Kremlin stressed that the relations between both countries are kept to ' very high level '.

' I am sure that it, to a great extent, is linked by your attitude towards Russia ', said Putin to the king of Spain.

For his part, the Spanish monarch, according to Itar Tass, was grateful for the hospitality of his host and he presented his personal condolences, those of the Royal Family, of the Government and the Spanish people for the death of 170 occupants of the Russian airliner that smashed on Tuesday spent in the East from Ukraine.

' I say this not as King of Spain, but as friend of the Russian people and as your personal friend ', said Juan Carlos mentioned by Itar-Tass.
The Russian television he proved to be an images of Putin and the king of Spain in the summer residence of the Russian president.
Sources of the House of the King confirmed to Efe that the visit answers to a personal invitation of Putin.

Don Juan Carlos and Putin have supported other meetings in the past. In June, 2005 they met in Moscow and in February, 2006 in Madrid, on the occasion of a visit of State that Putin effected to Spain.

The king Juan Carlos visits orthodox monasteries in the north of Russia

Moscow. (EFE) .-The king Juan Carlos, who is in visit deprived to Russia, will know today several orthodox monasteries in Vologda's region, to approximately 500 kilometres to the north of Moscow, as has reported the service of press of the local government.

The monarch, who met this Thursday the Russian president, Vladímir Putin, in the resort of Sochi, located in the Black sea, will visit the monasteries of Kirilo-Beloziorski and Ferapont, according to the Russian agency Interfax.

The monastery Kirilo-Beloziorski, founded in 1397, was visited in his time by Iván Terrible and Peter the Great; while that of Ferapont, founded in 1398 and closed by the Bolsheviks in 1924, is considered to be one of the summits of the religious architecture in the north of Russia.

Besides, the king of Spain will visit the ecological project Natural Borders, which one frames inside the European program Ekos-Uvertiura.

The king of Spain had visited Russia for last time in June of last year, occasion in the one that also supported an informal meeting with Putin.

Brussels. (EUROPA PRESS) .-The secretary general of the UNO, Kofi Annan, will meet in Madrid the King Juan Carlos I and the prime minister, Jose Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, in the visit that he will realize to the Spanish capital on the 6th and 7th of September.

This way it was indicated today in press conference by the minister of Foreign Affairs, Miguel Ángel Moratinos, who indicated that Annan will end up at Madrid at the conclusion of the visit that will initiate tomorrow Middle East.

The Kings inaugurate officially the course 2006-07 on the 11th in Aviles

The course 2006-07 will be inaugurated for the whole Spain on September 11 in Aviles by the presence of the Kings of Spain, don Juan Carlos and dona Sofía; the minister of Education, Mercedes Cabrera, and the president of the Principality, Vicente Álvarez Areces, between other personalities.

" The presence of the Kings not only is an honor for Asturias and the educational Asturian community, but also stimulates us to continue improving the magnificent academic results obtained by our pupils, especially the discharge appraises graduates' in ESO and Baccalaureate ", commented Riopedre.
 
What a schedule!:ohmy: It's very impressive to me that HM is meeting with world leaders at the highese levels. Juan Carlos is certainly not a "lazy" or figurehead king but an active and involved monarch.

Hi ladies, this actually my second post in the Royal Forums, so as I said the first one, please be patient with me until I understand the dynamic of the forums.

I answer to the comments about the king Juan Carlos trousers colours I must say that in summer we tend to relax and sometimes so much that our sense of style seems to have been left at home. I wouldn't be surprise if the king has left the sobriety at home for the summer.

You're right about relaxation leading to our sense of style being left behind! One thing you will notice is that at some point during every summer King JC will appear in his different coloured pants and we will all be here ready and waiting to make comments! :lol:

Thanks for the photos. I also think that the Queen looked great during the inauguration.

I was, however, quite surprised to see her dinner wear -- I thought those large-flower-print-blouse-and-pants combo are reserved for events in Palma during the summer :ROFLMAO:

This morning, the King transmitted in name of the whole Royal Family, and in telephonic conversation with the president of the Spanish Federation of Basketball, Jose Luis Saez, his congratulation to the selection of Spain.
Don Juan Carlos said to Saez that he should like to be in Saitama, where the final has been disputed, but that had continued every minute of the game from his residence and that had felt a great happiness for the victory, reported a speaker of the House of the King.
