The King, in name of the whole Royal Family, sent today a telegram of condolence to the family of Rocio Jurado after knowing the death of the singer, as reported a speaker of the House of the King.
In addition, Don Juan Carlos spoke telephonically with the husband of the tonadillera, Jose Ortega Cano, to express his sorrow to him for the disappearance of the artist, and expressed to him the great loss that she has supposed for the popular culture.
Rocio Jurado expired 05:15 hours to 61 years in her domicile of Madrid as consequence of the cancer of pancreas that she was suffering for two years.

fanletizia, is this translated literally? I've never seen it written this way before and I'm actually impressed if there is no distinction between King and Queen in formal language (as opposed to Reina). Please let me know and thanks :)

In Portuguese/Spanish when referring to plural, we always use the plural of the masculine word (of course this doesn't apply if we're talking about women only). So in the case above it was "Los Reyes" and literally translated as "The Kings".

I've this question because i've heard she sang in it!
It was a dinner of gala in the Royal Palace, I believe that it is impossible that she was putting to sing there. It was a dinner of state, very established by protocol and formal, not a concert.
Rocio Jurado was invited with her husband to the dinner by the Embassy of Colombia. Her husband Ortega Cano is a famous bullfighter there, both have a house in Cartagena de Indias , and the boy and the girl that they adopted were Colombian.

King grants Toisón of Gold to Bhumibol of Thailand
The King has granted the Toisón of Gold, the most prestigious dynastic order of the world, to the King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand, who these days celebrates sixty anniversary of his enthronement, which turns him into the most veteran monarch of the planet.
The Ministers' Council, assembled today in the Palace of The Moncloa, approved the royal decree for which don Juan Carlos grants this important decoration to the King of Thailand.
