At least Leonor is on top of the leaderboard and it's well deserved :) BUNTE recently presented a similar survey on the European Crown Princesses, conducted by a norwegian royal correspondant, Kjell Arne Totland (no idea who he is etc). Undisputed winner with full marks (20) was CP Maxima, followed by CPs Victoria (18), Mathilde & Mary (17), Mette Marit (16) and Letizia (13). Marks were given for style, glamour, commitment and reception by / contact to the public.

What a surprise ! The old man probably was mad that Felipe didn't marry Eva. He and his Norwegian tabloid magazine lost lots of money because of that .

yes it is ridiculos that survey, they could manipulate the results, I never believe in that, taking in account that princess Mary didn't go well in another survey about who is the best prepared princess, and she was last, so, I'm sorry but what the old man said, didn't have credibility.:)

It was not a survey, was this old man ranking the CPsses based on 4 categories mentioned by Duke. Obviously he didn't follow the CPsses outside the Nordic countries closely, otherwise he wouldn't have said Maxima was perfect in style or glamor, Letizia was lowest in dedication to her job or close to people. You know the Spanish RFs in general are among the most dedicated to their roles (the King used to tell his son Zarzuela was the place to work, not display fashion ) and closet to people, even Infantas have more acts than some of the CPs .
Those polls are just too silly to be even mentioned IMO.

... but I give him kudos for including Mathilde as she is left out so often (BUNTE said "We don't really know her well")! :flowers:

Leonor, the favorite one of the younger members of the Royal Houses.
Antena3

The Infanta Leonor, who is only 2 years, and she leads already a ranking. She is the favorite one among littles of all Royal Houses. Leonor, the eldest daughter of the Prince and Princess of Asturias is fun, expressive and an "earthquake", according to a German magazine.

Neither the very blond son of Mette Marit, nor the almost clones princesses from the Netherlands, even the sweet Aiko have managed to unseat our Infanta.

She is adorable, indeed...And I'm wanting to know if her sister is similar to her when she grews a little. Prince Felipe is very lucky to have a so adorable pair of daughters.

Hope they could be as bright, good and dutyful women as they were beatiful girls. ;)

Vanesa.

Yes vanesa, Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia sure are very proud of this little girl so special and so admired throughout the world.
If at the end the constitution changes (I hope that this will be soon) Leonor would be an spectacular and very loved queen.;)

All of the royal children are cute; however I think Leonor has a very strong personality and she instantly becomes the center of attention. For a very young child, she already has the "royal stare".

Im not surprised she leads the ranking, Leonor is just the most adorable little girl ever.

Camarina, you always have the BEST avatars I LOVE this new one you got.

Perfectly true and we can to ask ourself why? curious!:ermm:
I don't know the reason for this either, but the german newspapers always "forget" the Belgian Royal family, if it is the children, the king or the crownprinces... I don't know why. They write a lot about the other european royal families though, also stupid stuff of course. So before I became interested in royalty, I knew nothing of the belgian royal family, because they were never on Tv, magazines etc.

I think, too that Leonor has an outgoing quality, which is good for her because she is in the limelight, if she was a more shy girl, this might cause problems.

Ha. She probably got the "stare" from her grandfather, JC. I think she's more Borbon than even her father. IMO, she has the whole package to be the royal star for years to come: good looks, an oversized personality, expressiveness, a happy disposition (she hasn't cried in public since she's two months old) and an instinct for cameras (or the "IT" factor). SRF has a stable of good looking kids. However, in every photos she's in, your eyes just can't help but being drawn to her. That's the IT factor.

As for Belgian royal family, I never found them that interesting. They're too quiet and conservative, which translates to "boring" for media. Mathilde usually dresses herself close to her husband's age than hers. She now dresses her daughter in constructed dresses designed by the designer she uses. In the few pictures I saw of her daughter, she's smiling shyly and demurely in designer dresses like a little lady. She just doesn't look that interesting. Just my 2 cents.

Is the " IT factor " a concept used in matter of communication? Whatever very interesting defenition of the "presence" in front the camera.

In the case of Leonor, it's true because it looks like for her so natural to be under the limelights that it's totally astonished to understand how a two years old little girl is at ease in front the cameras. More instinctively we can remark that Leonor pose, she is looking frankly at the shooters in some way as if she was abble to give her better face. She is not simpering, she is imposing her personality, very extraordinary!

I'm not specialist of baby's behaviour in front the cameras, I couldn't have any conclusion for that but what intersting issue!

I thought that we could give our opinion in this forum.
We were just commenting a news about Leonor, but if this is not possible ... stop giving our opinion.
If we want to talk about how cute Leonor is, we will do this in CUTE ROYAL FORUM,that is alright, but if we want to talk about her personality or that she is very admired because she is the winner in a ranking ,why we can not talk about this news in this forum( Leonor personal forum)?I do not understand this:ermm:

The "IT" factor is a Hollywood speak for on-screen-presence. Some stars have something extra, undefinable quality, that just "fills" or "lights up" the screen. It takes a step further from just being good looking. There are plenty of good looking people but not many people with the "IT" factor. That's why not everyone can be a star.

The best example I saw was in the Robin Hood movie starring Kevin Costner. Kevin Costner just didn't have the presence or charasma to fill the screen. It's hard to imagine he's the leader of the pack. But when Sean Connary made an appearance as the king, boy, he really "filled" the screen with his charisma. He instantly overshadowed Costner. I could imagine people would die for him.

It's very unusual to see that in a two-year-old. But Leonor really has "IT". She, in her pin size, seems to dominate every frame she's in. She usually has the liveliest expression or gesture when the camera is on. That's not coachable for someone so young. She just has a natural instinct for it. She could make a killing in Hollywood if her parents allow. :)

Gosh please let's get not too exteme about the attitude of a two year old girl who doesn't have a clue what this circus surrounding her is all about. She is obviously comfortable in front of the camera, good for her and has a lively character but please don't make her the most charismatic child ever around before she has even understood who she actually is and why she will be in the center of attention for the rest of her life - whether she likes it or not.

Why are you so negative ? It's me who ask for "IT" concept used for Leonor. Whithout to overcome the extreme, the explanations given are very interesting. The question isn't to praise stupidly this young baby girl, because you are totally right Leonor is only a young funny mischievous baby girl. The question is to understand why this young baby girl is so attractive for the media. You can't deny that she is - for the moment - especially at ease in front the cameras. More, by a very hurry combination as soon as we have seen Leonor with her somptuous fair curles a lot of people have thaught to Shirley Temple this american little girl who had - if I have well underestood the concept - the " IT" look.

I understand this is an interesting topic, I also understand that the discussion flourished from the poll in the article.

However, don't forget we are talking about children. Comparing one to the other is simply not fair: they all have different and unique personalities.

It is inevitable that some of us like one child more then the other, but it certainly doesn't mean one of them is better then the other.

So please, don't start comparing children from different Royal Houses. Those posts will likely be removed.

Thank you for cooperation and understanding,

Thank you! This type of poll is disgusting and so unfair to children. Any parent will see their children go from shy to outgoing, and the reverse, throughout their development. To label one as "It" is vile. The pressure to remain popular as they grow and become aware is cruel and harmful.

Felipe and Letizia don't need this type of pressure either!

I am really surprised by the reaction of some people after this survey.
Nobody should underestimate any child because as avalon said , every child is different and I think that nobody has disparaged any child here.
But those who are commanding here are who decide, I still thinking that Leonor is one of the most special girl who i have never seen.
(I hope I can express my opinion freely without which I erased my message)

You certainly have the right of opinion camarina. :)
And I agree with you, Leonor is a very special girl. The only think that is asked is not to compare Royal kids.

Vile??? Why? A person is born with "IT". You can't grow "IT" if you are not born with it. "IT" has nothing to do with popularity. Since it's an innate quality, a person can't lose it no matter we talk about it or not.

By the way, studies have shown that a kid's true personality shows through by the age of 2. I have never heard a kid can go from being shy to outgoing or the reverse "throughout their development".

True that a child's personality shines through at an early age, but a child that is very shy is not worth less, less intelligent or even less "it" than an outgoing child. The education and environment factor plays a very great deal, you are not just "born" with it and can't change it, it also depends on encouragement etc. When Leonor was a very young baby people wondered or praised why she is so calm. Now she is very outgoing. Both is Ok, she is a sweet girl if she is calm and shy or if she is laughing and outgoing. Not everybody has to be the same. The only thing is that it might make it easier fo her if she doesn't mind the publicity and the potographers and hopefully for her it stays that way.

I'm not surprised that Leonor outranks other princessess. She's just too cute for words plus she's so outgoing that whenever you saw a picture of her, you can never go wrong. Even if she's not smiling, her face shows another expression which I think is so cute. I'm hoping that her character will not change as she grows up because that's needed if you're a royal, what with constant penetration of the public ;).

Some people seem to have a hard time grasping the concept of "IT" factor. You don't "encourage" or coach someone into having the "IT" factor. You can't. It's an innate quality.

And NO one here says other kids without the "IT" factor is "worth less" or "less intelligent". "IT" factor usually decides who becomes a star and who doesn't. It has nothing to do with "worth" or "intelligence". You can be a shy genius who wins the Nobel prize without the "IT" factor.

I have to disagree with you on Leonor's behavior at earlier days. She's different from other kids from the start. She's not just calm, she almost never cried. She's never afraid of strangers who were shouting her name or snapping her pictures. She never hid her face in her parents' arms as a lot of other kids do. She also never showed irritation with all the commotion like some kids do (a couple kids come to mind). She looked at them curiously, seeming to try to find out who these strangers were.

Now she seems to have found out all these strangers are just her "adoring public" and she could show her personality as in front of family and friends. She's an instant star from the time she ran away from her father and ran toward the photographers outside of the hospital where her mother just gave birth. She wanted to show off her new toy - the duck - to the photographers. All the photographers - and the public - melted at the spot.

Do Leonor and Sofia have nannies? We don't often see them out in public, but when we do, it seems to me that they're with they parents or other relatives, with nobody else there. Do any of the kids in the SRF have nannies?
