Maria Joao Pires receives the Prize don Juan de Borbón

The infanta dona Elena delivered yesterday in the afternoon the Portuguese pianist Maria Joao Pires, very known by her facet as interpreter but also for her labor of formation of the new generations of musicians, the Prize don Juan de Borbón of the Music, endowed with 60.000 Euros in cash and a piece of the Royal Factory of Crystal of The Farm (Segovia).
The infanta Elena presided at the act of delivery of the award, summoned by the Foundation don Juan de Borbón in recollection of the father of the King don Juan Carlos, in the Kings' lounge of the Fortress, accompanied by her husband, don Jaime de Marichalar, and with the assistance of the mayor of the city and president of the Foundation, Pedro Arahuetes; the delegate of the Government in Castile and León, Miguel Alejo; and the adviser of Culture of the Meeting, Silvia Clemente, who represented the president of Castile and León, Juan Vicente Herrera, who could not come.
