If it's in French, then they surely translated what they read in the Spanish articles. Hijo in Spanish does not distinguish between a boy or a girl. It simply means child. Perhaps they misunderstood what they read and then translated it by garçon, instead of enfant I don't think the Spanish magazines would miss this plate to Point de Vue... And then again, it was never announced the sex of the child...

Anyway, I have to say that there are a lot of rumors in Spain about a baby boy coming, but... who knows?
As Iñaki said when the pregnancy was announced: "Even if it's a boy of it's a girl, I just hope the baby comes healthy".

The Dukes of Palma de Mallorca expressed their happiness after the Official Announcement of Princess Letizia's pregnancy. Infanta Cristina is expecting her 4rd child within a few weeks.

Great photos everyone!
In the ones which Elsa post I noticed that the Infanta has a very big belly, right, but... she is thin! I mean... the rest of her body is very slim; look, for example, at her legs in the first picture.:)
And from the ones which rchainho posted I love these:

Infanta Cristina and her husband Iñaki Urdangarín attended in Madrid the XI edition of Journalism Awards "Salvador de Madariga".

Official pic from casareal.es:

Thanks a lot for the pics marezdote.
And yeah, I presume that the father of Letizia was there because he is a journalist too.
By the way, I don't know if it is correct to post this here but... yesterday Pilar Urbano, who wrote the Queen's official biography, said on the TV that Jesús Ortiz was so unpleasant with the press when the pregnancy of her daughter was announced because he has always been a very republican man.
Has anybody read or heard something about this?
Just curious...

Is that why he never talks to the press about his daughter? He seems to be a very private person. His ex-wife is so amiable with the press, always smiling.

It's perfectly understandable that he doesn't want to talk to the press, after all he's a journalist himself and he must cultivate an independent image. I remember reading right after the marriage, that he was sorry for losing his anonymity, as he's a serious professional that esteems his impartiality very much. He and his new wife are both journalists and it's obvious they're both very discreet people, so they don't want to appear on every cover for any other reason than their own work.
